It is WAY heavier than it looks. I bought it for my daughter as a home defense... I mean a softball bat. The grip is slick and grip tape is an essential $15 add-on. In hindsight, a shorter bat may have been more ideal, but it has a good reach and once it gets moving, it's going to break something... I mean hit one out of the park. The price is awesome even compared to aluminum and wood little league bats which are twice the cost. I tested it by taking a full swing at a freshly cut tree trunk. It left a huge dent without a mark on the bat and, amazingly, I didn't feel the vibration in my hands. A must for the dorm, apartment, or trunk. Remember to keep a glove and ball with it. Your lawyer will thank you.

I took the sticker off immediately as I like it completely black. It did look cool when it was on. The bat is sturdy, feels great to swing and for me is not too heavy. (I'm a 150 pound 5 foot ten male) The very end of the bat on the side where you hold it has Cold Steel in writing embedded on it so even with no stickers you can still affirm it is truly made by Cold Steel. The grip is fine and someone could not likely pull it out of my hand, but if wet it may become slick so I'm putting black friction type sports tape that performs when wet on the handle. Nice size for home protection or vehicle carry. I recommend carrying a glove along with it if in your car. Cold Steel has not let me down yet. Thank you for reading this. God bless!

A gun is very unlikely to protect you or your family. Think about law officers who are actually well trained to use them. How often are they successful in those situations? It's not 100%. So what is your success rate going to be in a situation where you and/or your family is involved? In a situation like that, areas within the limbic system of your brain such as the amygdala take over. When the amygdala takes over, your hand-eye coordination and judgement deteriorate and any skills you may have developed in a controlled training environment may not apply. Of course, in 100 years I don't think we will have guns anymore. All we need is a completely reversible weapon that stops a criminal until the cops arrive without resulting in any permanent or minimal temporary harm. It's only a matter of technology and time. Until then you need to get the Cold Still Brooklyn Crusher. Keep it under your bed or nearby. If your kids get their hands on it, no problem. They're more likely to play baseball than to bash each other up with it on accident. If you hear a thump in the night, you're less likely to kill your spouse on accident (still not zero percent). Also doubles as a hammer when you can't find a real hammer. Kills bugs in an instant. Can use as prod to adjust logs in the fireplace. Stand on your porch leaning on it with a straight face just because you can. Finally, its excellent at hitting home runs but not guaranteed to that either.

This is a nice product overall. It's well made, it looks good, and there's no doubt it's super durable. For me though, it was just too heavy. I wanted it for home defense and I feel like it's just a bit too unwieldy for that purpose. This thing will absolutely obliterate any object that it connects with, that's for sure. But self defense weapons like this need to strike a balance or power, speed, and maneuverability and this one is just too far on the power side for my liking. I also tried the 24" version and found it to be too heavy for a one handed weapon and too small to be wielded with two hands. But that's just me. If you're okay with the weight, this will likely be a good choice for you.

Bought this as by-the-door-sports-equipment. It’s super heavy I’m pretty sure there’s a big ol metal pipe in the middle of this thing. Good length for both my wife and me. Quietly unassuming but I can’t wait to wrap the handle and give it a try at the cages for funsies. Would recommend.

Dorénavant, mon voisin baisse les yeux quand il me croise. C’est sûr, il doit regarder où il marche maintenant qu’il a un genou en plastique.Humour bien sûr.Batte en plastique mais solide, lourde, incassable, j’aimerais pas m’en prendre un coup. Achetée pour de la defense, gare à celui qui essaiera d’entrer chez moi la nuit, il se prendra un bon coup de cet engin là. Je confirme que sous les autocollants, le plastique est lisse. Dommage mais c’est pas très visible. Je prévois un grip pour éviter qu’elle ne glisse.
Heavier than I thought
I thought would be lighter than metal bats but it's heavier than I thought. I guess I have to use it for training my kids swing instead of actual game. Too heavy even for adults. But feels solid.

Crusher by name and crusher by nature.
Superb bit of kit. Made from some sort of super tough plastic, just holding the Crusher makes you want to rush out and start whacking balls into the air. I bought it after reading and watching several reviews on the Web, all of which said it was almost indestructible.The bat is reasonably heavy but this only adds to the overall feel of quality. It does feel unbreakable. After a weekend away where the bat was put through its paces I can happily say that the Crusher is every bit as good as I'd hoped it would be. Slugging away at a heavy ball did nothing at all, and even whacking fist-sized rocks did very little. Apparently just a gentle wipe down or sanding will smooth out any dents but personally I think they add to its charm, and even sending rocks flying did very little to the Crusher anyway. We even tried slugging away at felled tree and the Crusher smashed away branches with absolute ease. Certainly if anyone had tried breaking into our tent at night I think one look at someone holding this bat would send them running. I'm not advocating using the bat as a weapon in any way but after seeing what it can do to a reasonably thick tree branch I shudder to think of its impact on anything else.This is our first baseball bat purchase so I can't compare it to others. We bought it to play ball when we are out and about or camping. If anything the bat is too good at sending a reasonably heavy ball flying. I would suggest getting a soft, heavy ball that will absorb some of the massive impact from the Crusher as otherwise you will spend 80% of your time running miles to fetch the ball. Failing that, it also makes an excellent way of exercising your dog.All in all, an awesome bat that will do everything you ask of it for a long time to come.
