They have no idea what they are talking about, and left me wondering why they initially purchased it, and if they even exercise?Work your way up to 2-3 grams pre-workout.I take it 30 minutes before exercise. It gives me the tell-tale tingles, which starts my countdown to working out.

Not many supplements that are a game changer, but this is one of them on par with crayons or caffeine. The effect on my recovery/stress as measured by my Garmin are huge.I do recommend starting out with 1 and increasing to 2. I get the skin tingles at 2 so that means my body is probably processing as much as it possibly can. I love the way I feel though, the tingles have grown on me. I take 2 in the am and 2 in the pm.

As an active woman who loves to run and enjoys strength training, Beta-alanine is a supplement I like to add in my stack when I want extra energy and endurance. I purchased many products from NOW Foods (both the regular and the Sports line) and I'm always satisfied by the quality.As a small athletic female (5'5'', 110-120lbs) I can only take 1 capsule before a really hard workout or a long run. This stuff is strong enough to give me a big rush in just 15-20 minutes. I can really feel the jitters and rush; if it's not an intense enough workout I definitely get some skull pressure from the rush going to my head instead of the muscles (and I noticed in reviews many mentioned headaches). The effects last for 1-1.5 hours, with the tingling getting less noticeable as I workout.The tingling doesn't subsides once I take it over a long period, I just got used to it. It's not uncomfortable or bad, just strange, especially if you are not used to taking similar supplements.Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but I feel like 3 capsules would kill me; so I highly recommend starting with a low dosage and increasing it only if you feel safe (especially if you are a small person like me).Personally I found that taking it along theanine helps keeping the rush, jitters and tingling down. I would be actually afraid to combine it with caffeine or other stimulants.For me it helps with muscle fatigue during and immediately after the workout, but I would still feel the muscle burn/fatigue next day if I overdo it.The pills are regular sized, maybe a little on the slightly bigger size, easy to take (but I don't have issue with larger pills usually), don't caused me stomach issues.

I have been taking beta alanine for about a month. I have been doing CrossFit, and I believe that the beta alanine has helped my performance. I did not notice anything for about two weeks. It seems to be working better now at four weeks. Hopefully, it will continue to improve performance. I notice more muscle endurance. Being able to do more reps at a given weight. No difference in maximal strength. I have been taking 3 grams per day, which is 4 capsules. The capsules are very convenient to take. I like the product and will continue to take it.

I take 4 capsules 1hr before each hockey game. Helps me skate longer as my legs used to get wobbly after the 1st period. Works great though. Does make your skin tingle, but you get used to it.

Beta-alanine is the rate-limiting precursor to carnosine. Supplementing with carnosine is a waste of money in comparison because your digestive system simply breaks it down to beta-alanine and histidine (wiki).After I take it, both in the morning and at dinner, I feel more alert and energetic. I also get a tingling feeling in my ears, legs and arms which doesn't bother me but makes me think it's working. I haven't paid much attention to how it affects my running, but I know that I can do (many) more pushups than usual after taking it. So it seems there is some effect on performance.

I've had some luck with this product in the past but it seems the formula is not quite the same. It's largely hit or miss to best describe it. Sometimes I don't feel anything and when I do it's not very powerful at all. Definitely switching to a different brand but someone else that prefers the less heavy effects of beta alanine may find this product useful.
