This is the go to for screw type stingers. Would suggest a traditional tweco for learning but once you aren't getting rods stuck to the base metal this is the stinger to have. Its very comfortable to use and clamps rods very securely.

Great electrode holder. I don't recommend this holder for people new to welding, because if you stick the rod too many times the end of the electrode will melt to the jaws. My buddy is new to welding and hates this clamp. I myself love this clamp because I can manipulate the electrode in any direction I need to. Great holder!!! There are cheaper but not any that are better. I use it daily and have had it over a year. I like it because it is slim,holds the rod tight and does not get hot even with 3/16 7018

this is my favorite type of stinger for stick welding most of them i have seen are far more in price than this one. I like the fact that this holds the electrode tight but with just a quick turn of the wrist and you can release it

Right out of the package the head was separated. For 40 bucks I’d say find a different stinger. I’m gona tape it so it doesn’t get packed full of dirt and grime and see how it welds tomorrow at work.
