These are the best, inexpensive stainless steel tongs for reliable firm grasping especially over hot coals during BBQing. Long reach (16 inch pair)keeps your hands cool over hot coals as well. My husband has used this set of tongs while cooking for years and I finally got him a new one after rubber band we used to keep it together at the area you hold on to (has a rivet that started to rust) was getting well worn! After 20+ years! These are very sturdy and simple to clean. He refuses to use more expensive, poor grasping tongs we have tried in the past. Sturdiness:Years of reliable handling. These are NOT fancy. But they are strong, well made and long. I use these on a PK360 grill with everything from small items to large steaks when reverse searing them on a HOT fire. They grab and hold the meat with assurance and they are long enough to keep my hands out of the fire. The steel gauge is heavy and they do not wobble or twist when stressed. They do NOT have a lock to keep them closed. I hand wash them and they have not rusted. I do believe they are said to be dishwasher safe. I just don't do that. Can't beat the price.

I often take a while to review products, I like to test out items thoroughly before leaving feedback. These tongs have truly earned 5 stars, & then some.When I first received these, my first thought was "Woah, they're heavy, yay!" Husband said they were exactly like the tongs chefs used in the restaurants that he worked at- tongs that would get thrown across the room, hit the wall, get a rinse & go right back to work without a flaw. I believe it.They are sturdy, have a solid grip, are easy to handle & keep closed around objects, are proven durable, gorgeous, & so daggum useful. I've used them to pick up cast iron pans out of fires, turn coals over, flip foil packages, turn sausages without tearing the casing, spin pizza pans in my conventional oven, fish out bones from stock pots before filtering the liquid, & whatever else comes to mind where I want to reach something hot.They keep a firm grip on food without being destructive, they are easy to handle, easy to clean. I store them on a hook on my wall, they cannot fit in my over-stuffed drawers & utensil barrels, but that's not a problem at all for me. After months of hard use, they still look & act like brand new. 100% satisfied with these & would highly recommend them.

Great price and very sturdy but the tongs do not open wide at all. If I cook a number of steaks, breasts, ribs, etc. I am not able to pick up multiple pieces at a time because of the small width. If they opened wide these would be perfect.I have posted a pic comparing with a set of cheap tongs that actually open wide.

I bought these to use on outings when I grill over a campfire. These tongs are long, sturdy and cheap. Long to keep my hands away from the heat. Sturdy to withstand heavy use and abuse. Cheap because equipment tends to get lost and broken during camping trips. They also don't have any rubber, plastic, or wood on them that could be damaged if they accidentally get dropped into a fire.I own a set of the 17-inch Rösle tongs but I don't want to take them camping because they cost over 5 times as much as the 16-inch Winco tongs. The Winco tongs are a decent alternative for camping. They have the same usable length because the length of the Rösle includes the hanging loop. The Winco and Rösle tongs are comparable in strength as they use the same thickness of stainless steel. However, the Rösle tongs are more comfortable to hold, and they have a lock to keep them closed.The main downside of the Winco UT-16HT tongs is that they don't have a lock to keep them closed. Winco makes the "heavy duty" UTLK-16 with a lock, but they are not even close to the strength of the "extra heavyweight" UT-16HT. If you need the lock functionality, you should look at the Edlund 4416HDL, or more expensive tongs like the Rösle.

They are by far the best ones I’ve used. The only criticism is they need a hook or something to hang on a bbq.

I, being the primary cook at both home and camping, from steak, lamb & pork chops, sausages or fish say they are fantastic. My wife however prefers the standard tongs, I believe from not accepting change.

Cheap n cheerful
For a pound u get the quality of a worth 3 pounds plus tong..Turk weeks to come from chin but its final here n I'm flipping away at the pittas n like it as its quite lite but wot do u expect for a pound.. It's like a ice tong but bigger better wider a ill better quality
