Reviews:
5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile boot for both office and physical work environments. Plenty of style for nights outside.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } First pair of red wings and was hesitant about sizing and breaking in, but all my concerns were dispelled within the first 2 days of owning these. First, I sized down. I normally wear a 9.5/10. 10 for my athletic shoes, 9.5 for dress shoes. I went with a 9 in these chukkas and the fit is dead on for me. I would size down 1/2 - 1 full size depending on your snugness preference and based on whatever sock you will likely wear with these (I wear a light/midweight merino wool sock). These felt great on my feet after breaking them in over a couple of days.I bought these as a replacement for my clarks desert boot in beeswax. I loved the way the clarks looked but always hated the way they felt under foot. The high heel on clarks, lack of arch support, and weird insole always left my feet aching. My feet are plenty strong too--having purposely built them up by working full time 8 hour shifts on concrete floors wearing nothing but merrell minimalist running shoes. These are sooooooooo much more comfortable than the clarks that they replaced. Everything about the insole/inside of the boot feels like its in the right place. It offers support throughout the entire footbed. The white Vibram Christy style sole (It is not a true vibram sole, but a Red Wing Branded alternative) feels like a pillow under my feet. The "copper rough and tough" finish of the leather is pretty much the closest that Red Wings offers to Clarks beeswax, and I'm very happy with it. The leather feels heavily treated, and shows wear the same way a waxed boot would. This is very much a construction/work style chukka. It has reinforced eyelets for long term durability, and reinforced paneling around the toebox area. It come with construction style boot laces (the best ones I've ever experienced btw due to their stiffness and friction). That said, my current job has me splitting my time between the front office that requires business casual and the back warehouse floor where grunt work is done--I wear these boots 24/7 without anyone giving me a second glance. They are indeed that versatile. This style outsole was absolutely made for concrete floors, but still looks so stylish. If you wanted to dress them up a bit, change out the laces and you would get an office shoe that offers the discrete capability of being able to be abused hard in a physical work environment. After work, keep them on for happy hour and still look boss.My own complaint is that the outsole tends to pick up a lot of dirt in the heel area when I'm driving my car. Yes my car is dirty but no my other shoes have never shown this much dirt after driving either.I was torn between these and the casual style RedWing chukka called the "weekender chukka"--those look like a direct competitor to clarks desert boots. I'm glad I went with these though because they accomplish everything that I had in mind, which was to get myself a boot that could do both ;)Edit: 2 year update. It's now July 2019, and I have worn these boots for at least 500 days. I love them...so much so that I will probably resole them this year as I've worn down the soles pretty aggressively in the heel area (probably exacerbated by my gait/biomechanics ).O yeah, today I was chopping/splitting wood with these on and accidently missed a log. My splitting maul glanced off the log and went right into my right boot. Thankfully the blade hit by the double reinforced layers of leather by the forefoot area, and did zero damage to my body. The boot surprisingly shows very little damage. I'm now a customer for life after this close call.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love At First Step
I've been wanting a nice, classic pair of leather boots for years and finally decided to look into it more seriously. After hours of researching, comparing brands/styles and reading reviews, I landed on the Red Wing work chukka. My hesitation about boots in the past was I was concerned they might be too heavy, and I really prefer lightweight footwear. Seeing that these were advertised as lightweight boots, and comparing their listed weight to that of other brands, I decided to take a chance and give them a shot. I also read various things about fit in the reviews, with people saying everything from they fit true to size to order a size down to order a size up, so with no clear consensus there, I decided I'd just try my normal shoe size, 11, and figured I could exchange them for another size as needed.Well, the boots arrived today, and I couldn't believe it. I opened them up, admired their beauty, took in the intoxicating aroma of the leather, and slipped them on. They fit like a glove! I was prepared for some trial-and-error, and then even when I found the right fit, some discomfort as I endured the break-in period, but it seems I must have struck gold, because these feel absolutely flawless right out-of-the-box! When I hold the bottoms of these boots up to the bottoms of my Vans slip-ons, also a size 11, I do see that the Red Wings are about an inch longer, but this makes sense because of the toe box. Obviously you need some wiggle room, and nobody's toes are gonna cram into the very tip of the boot, so I'm going to join club "order your usual size," as I think that is what Red Wing intended. A size smaller and these would feel restrictive. A size larger and I'd have too much heel slip, so I think I nailed the sizing.Given how comfy these boots already are on day one, I'm eager to see how they only become more comfortable as they break in and the leather starts to mold to my foot shape. I am thrilled with the look, feel, construction and fit of these boots and am so glad I took a chance on them! If you are interested in them but had some of the initial reservations I did, I say go for it. Grab a pair in your usual size and see how they feel. You can always exchange them for another size if needed. Everyone's feet are different, but with any luck, you'll find that they work great for you as they did for me.
4.0 out of 5 stars Top notch footwear
I've owned many other Red Wing boots and this one has the same high quality, flawless leather and abnormal fit as the other Red Wing boots I've owned. For some unexplainable reason, Red Wing decided to make all of their footwear half a size bigger than normal. I can't understand why, but when you buy any Red Wing boot or shoe, you should order a half size smaller than your regular size. That is what gives it 4 stars instead of 5. Knowing that, I ordered half size down but many don't know that and Red Wing does not advertise that so I'm sure many people order their size only to return them or wear them and claim they are horrible because they are wearing the wrong size.It is comfortable, good looking, easy to match up to any style chukka that seems to have high quality leather that takes time to "break in". The break-in experience seems to depend on individual feet because some say they can't ever break them in and some (me) claim they can break them in, in a couple of hours. All I did was put them on one morning and by the end of the day, I forgot they were new Red Wings. Walking in the boot is the best way to break them in. Bending the sole and sweating on the leather is the best remedy for stiff boots. You can use all the mink oil and leather voodoo products you want but if you don't wear them until they feel good, you will not break them in.After all is said and done, I would recommend these boots. Just remember that they do run large and that you might have to break them in to start feeling the "wonderful" part that many claim about Red Wing Chukkas.

Awesome Chukka
This is an awesome chukka. Needs some time to get it broken in tho.
Traumhafte 👞
Super Schuhe, sehr gut zu tragen.Werde ich noch einmal kaufen😊
Amazing quality and very stylish
I love Red Wing shoes. I currently own four pairs, of which two pairs of these Chukka's: the Briar Oli Slicks and the Oro-iginals.These are very handsome boots. The Oro-iginals get my nod when it comes to style. Wasn't a fan of the original yellow-and-red laces however, so I replaced them with dark brown Blacksmith style laces. This makes them look even more awesome.Like all Red Wings, the quality of these boots is unparalleled. I bought my regular size and they fit great. The break in period was quite short; about ten days. And without any blisters to speak of.
Perfecto
Unas botas para toda la vida de gran calidad y excelente cuero.
