Excellent quality split peas. I’ve made several pots of soup with these, and having inspected each batch carefully before cooking I haven’t found a single piece of debris, a malformed pea, a pebble, or anything else that shouldn’t be there is this bag. The flavor is excellent, too.

I love the bulk quantity and the quality of the product. I would like to see the price come back down. I purchase theses regularly because I live on an island where they aren’t always available but the price increase has me thinking about buying locally because now it’s way cheaper here than ordering online.

You do not have to soak them them before cooking. They make fantastic flavoured soup.

Be aware that 5 lbs includes the packaging

The peas themselves are reasonably good, though no different than anything that I’ve bought in a local grocery store in terms of quality. Be aware though that 5 lbs includes the packaging - weighed on a precise kitchen scale, 4 lbs 14.0 oz are peas with the other 2 oz being the burlap bag. Not a huge difference, but it certainly adds up from the manufacturer’s point of view. It’s the principle that I find annoying - if you buy 5 lbs of a particular product, that should be what you receive.
