My 2 1/2 granddaughter flipped over this dollhouse. I bought Cobee dollhouse family figures to go with it even though it came with three dolls because I wanted to mix the races and extend the family to better match her reality. She was obsessed with door. She had different family members knocking and being greeted to come in and have a seat. She is hyperactive with a short attention span so she only plays with toys 5 minutes at a time, but this dollhouse held her complete attention for an hour and she kept returning to it all Christmas day.It came shrink wrapped and nothing was chipped or broken. The only downside was that it is supposed to be portable but when you close it, there is no way to keep it shut. This may contribute to some of the bad reviews. If the child picks it up by one handle, it will put a lot of stress on the hinge as it flops open and spills the contents. I could see that happening, so I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a bronze clasp for $1.99. I installed it easily with a small phillips screw driver. It really should have been included but it didn’t subtract from the sheer joy she had playing with it so I didn’t take away a star. I predict my granddaughter will have many hours of imaginative play with this little house and I would buy again.

This house comes with furniture and one person. My 3 year old really enjoys playing with it. It is sturdy and easy to shove everything back inside and close it. My only two notes would be that everything is wooden with no color and there's only one doll. A friend for the doll would be lovely. Other than that, this meets all expectations.

I got this on sale for $36 and spent about $40 more to upgrade it. It’s the perfect size for Calico Critters. The dolls that came with it were astonishingly poor quality and hideous. They went straight into the trash. Everything else is very sturdy and I love it! I just wanted it to be cuter so gave it a make over which was easy and a lot of fun for me.I got brick red and dusky rose spray paint, cream craft paint, contact paper for the floors, and wood glue from Walmart.Ivy and gingerbread trim from Hobby Lobby.I had some wrapping paper to use for cut outs and wall paper which I modge podged on.My husband found the little gold latch (I don’t know what the company name was but there are some here on Bolo too).The ivy is attached with tiny fasteners that my husband had for his job (from Home Depot). He snipped them down smaller for the dollhouse.This is for our 3yr old’s Christmas this year and I’m so excited I could cry. Doll houses are expensive even for crappy ones. This was such an affordable option.
