Found this to be the best price per ounce and I love it in coffee and tea.
5.0 out of 5 stars great taste!
love it! 2nd time ordering & now on auto reorder. use in coffee in the morning. like the "raw" aspect of it. been using the regular ones for eons.
5.0 out of 5 stars I use a little Agave Nectar in much of my cooking, and in my coffee & tea.
I'm a Type 2 diabetic and have rarely used any white or brown sugar in my drinks or in my cooking since 2012. I do use Splenda, and sometimes add Sweet-n-Low (to deepen the sweetness). coconut sugar, and the Agave syrup. Oh, I also use a sugar-free syrup when I have a waffle, but I add a little Agave Nectar for extra sweetness. I add a little Agave syrup when I am making a spicy chicken dish, with Salsa Ranchera, diced tomatoes, onion, carrots, and sweet bell & jalapeno peppers. A little Agave Nectar in my morning oatmeal, with some dried cranberries or blueberries, hits the spot.
5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Product If You're Stupid
If you imagine that any sugar sweetener is significantly more harmful or healthful than another, you're kidding yourself and playing the dupe for one marketing group or another. Yes, this is agave nectar. From blue agave. That's meaningful, because blue agave juice is processed using just heat to convert the simple sugars. You get what's mostly fructose. It is an error to say it's no different from HFCS. HFCS is a mix of fructose and glucose. And of course, it's from corn and has a few more processing steps. Someone warned that it's not a good for you as maple syrup. Wise up. Maple syrup is sucrose. Different sugar, the one in common cane sugar. It's plain weird that people imagine common white cane sugar to be evil but then want cane sugar in their soft drinks instead of corn sugar. Guess what. Sugar is calorie intense. What one sugar does, any other sugar essentially does the same thing. Eat too much of it, and you get sick. So, how about this blue agave nectar. It's raw, which is also meaningful, and not just in a tree-huggy way. Raw agave nectar is treated at lower heat than other varieties of agave nectar. And I think that comes through in the flavor, which is distinctive, fruity and pleasant, and to me, less cloying than honey. It is nearly all fructose, which even to me, knowing that most of the sugar ranting is B.S., has some appeal. This nectar is a pretty useful thickness, a lot like maple syrup that hasn't been overly thickened. Thick enough to coat what it's put on, and thin enough to flow over all of it, unlike honey. If you want to try agave nectar, you can't beat this one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, I use it for a simple syrup for sweetening iced tea
I love sweet iced tea, but don't necessarily like the glycemic load of sugar. I've tried virtually all artificial and low/no-calorie sweeteners, and they either taste horrible or give me gastric distress. My wife also loves iced tea, but not as sweet as I do, so we came up with a system for sweetening on demand. As any of you iced tea aficionados out there probably know, normal granulated table sugar will not dissolve in cold tea, and it's easiest to sweeten the tea when it's hot just after brewing, but then the sweetness level is set for that batch. So, what we do is create a simple syrup consisting of 1 part organic evaporated cane juice sugar, 3 parts of this organic raw agave syrup, and 2 parts hot water. We put those in a NALGENE Tritan 1-Quart Narrow Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle, shake it up for a minute, and voila, a very sweet liquid that we store in the fridge next to the tea. Then, when we pour a glass of tea we splash some of the syrup in it to taste, and it mixes up nicely even in the cold tea.And the taste of this agave sweetener is excellent. It is not exactly like table sugar, it has a hint of a molasses or dark brown sugar flavor, but only a hint, and nothing 'artificial' or 'aftertaste'-y.And, yes, I know this is still sugar with empty calories, but I try to use it in moderation and figure that the lower glycemic load of agave is better than full-on refined table sugar, and the fact that both ingredients are organic make me feel better about it as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Low-glycemic
I have gone through the gamut of sweeteners trying to find one without an aftertaste like some other brands. I also wanted a sweet taste but not spike my sugar. This one checked both boxes. Low glycemic and a nice sweet squirt to my coffee in the morning. My suggestion would be to first buy a little bottle and see if you like it, if not return it, Bolo has excellent return policy. I hope this helps.
4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT PRICE, BUT, SOME RESERVATIONS....
If you go to the grocery store, you get a little bottle of Agave Nectar for about $7.00. This 2-pack gives you two huge bottles for the price of two little ones. I do love agave and use it in my coffee and tea...even iced tea. I haven't really baked with it, I must admit. I gave this four stars because I have read mixed reviews and information regarding the actual health benefits of the stuff. Some say it is no better than corn syrup while others tout it as low glycemic and good for you. In my experience, I do find that when I use it a lot, my cravings for sweets increases...which leaves me to assume the former is probably true (darn!). I also find that when I use it a few times a day (I drink a lot of iced coffee and tea), my weight starts to edge up. Again, probably a testament to the info that says it is just corn syrup in another format. It is delicious and it is a good price, so, you'll have to come to your own conclusions regarding agave syrup! BTW, prickly pear juice, from cactus, has been proven to lower blood sugar. A lot of people think agave is a cactus and, therefore, has the same properties. In actuality, agave is a member of the lily family!
Would definitely buy again.

Given that the bottle isn't see-through I did wonder about the colour because if genuinely raw you should be able to see that it's a darker colour than heat processed Agave.I didn't need to worry, it's fine, it tastes just as it should and the consistancy is ideal. I also like that this product is Fairtrade.
Sweet but not from sugar!
I decided to try this product as i heard it claimed that you could get all the sweetness naturally without the high spike to your blood sugar. As a diabetic I was interested. I have been using it for a month and like it. It has a treacle like taste to it on its own but when you use it to sweeten anything you dont get that treacle taste at all. You can use it to sweeten drinks hot and cold in baking and cooking. I didnt experience the spike in my blood sugar and will continue to use it.
RAW agave is far superior. Worth every penny
