I had some wood veneer with an orange undertone. I saw a refinisher use AB paint in country tan as a paintwash to tone down furniture with orange undertones. As she did, I added 5 parts water to 1 part paint and painted the wash on the veneer after using water based prestain for good measure. I let the wash dry then stained with the water-based stain (minwax weathered oak) I selected. The result was the neutral, but not gray, toasty brown I was seeking.After many stains, faux wood techniques, etc, the solution for my 90s pink toned fake maple built in bookcases was a heat activated white oak veneer + paint wash using this value-priced paint.

This paint works perfectly for everything I need it for. I'm currently painting my walls and this paint spreads evenly and dries fast. It's a nice big bottle that really lasts and goes a long way. This will be a usual buy for me going forward for sure. I also mix it with a primer for my wall and it keeps that perfect Matt look and mixes very well. I'm excited to see how my wall turns out when it's all done.

If you are using this but you are going to be using this for actual painting like artwork painting then this may not be the best option. It is very dark and works very well and is very easy to paint over. However, it dries extremely fast if you that it doesn't matter how fast it dries then this will be a great one to pick. But if you need it to be slow drying in case you make mistakes, don't pick this product

This was the perfect color for a Thanksgiving turkey handprint craft with my littles! The price was better than in local craft stores and the top spout made it easy to put on little hands. The 8 ounce bottle will surely be enough to get us through the rest of this project and hopefully many more.
