AMACO Hi-Fire Buff No. 46 Stoneware Clay is ideal for modeling, throwing, pressing and slip painting. Stoneware clay has a firing range from Cone 5 - Cone 10 and can be glaze fired at Cone 5 temperature. Clay is very dense, semi-vitreous as well as soft gray color at Cone 10 and light cream color at lower temperatures. 50 lb Moist clay is talc free, Non-Toxic and comes in a container with two 25 lb plastic bags.

It came deliciously moist and so ready to hand build. It might be a little too moist for throwing without a little drying time. I primarily hand build and have been thrilled with this clay. I can't build fast enough! It also comes really fast once you order it which is nice. Now just to see if it glazes well. Really impressed with this clay so far! Just a heads up it is much browner then the product picture portrays. Still love it.

I kind of could not believe you get this much clay for $50 It’s great to work with and i’ve had it for 4 months and it’s still moist as long as you keep it wrapped up

I saw that I could get this clay with FREE shipping from Bolo Prime so decided to give it a shot. I know other reviewers said that they had problems with air pockets and such but since I am using this clay as handbuilding clay this has not been an issue for me; infact, I have used one entire 25 lb bag and have only noticed 2 small air bubbles....not a problem. If you work with slab building, then this is a good clay at a decent price. I will be purchasing more as needed.

I have bought this clay 3 times and have not found any problems. If any thing it comes a bit moist so if I am throwing 2-3 pounds I let it dry out so my walls will slump down and thicken the bottom wall. I fire bisque to cone 06 and glaze to cone 6 and have good results most of the time. I have been using Potters Choice glaze and not getting great results so I am moving to another glaze which should work well with this clay.

I'm thoroughly confused wny some people had a problem with this clay. I'm happy to report that this clay had a very consistent moisture content and wedged it as usual before throwing on the wheel. Zero problems with bubbles, felt wonderful and I had a blast throwing it. i like to work with porcelain and as much as this is stoneware it had that nice buttery feel and performed like a champ. I'm looking forward to seeing it through the steps and will return for a follow up review.

This is my go to clay I use others but this one is my work horse clay. It is very basic which is what you want. Easy to work with as it doesn’t create excessive amounts of slip while throwing it isn’t overly groggy but is still decently strong and it fires up nicely
