The Melissa & Doug Slice and Bake Wooden Cookie Set is a sweet introduction to pretend kitchen play! This colorful cookie set includes 12 wooden, sliceable cookies and 12 cookie toppings, a wooden knife, spatula, cookie sheet, and a kitchen mitt for safe, imaginative play. Your little baker can pretend to slice the cookies, place them on the cookie sheet, make believe they're baking, and then use the oven mitt for the "hot" cookies once they're done. (Note: the toy kitchen utensils are not meant for use with real food or with real kitchen appliances). Then it's decorating time! The 12 "vanilla" and "chocolate" frosting pieces attach to the cookies with self-stick tabs and are painted with yummy-looking sprinkles, candy pieces, and icing patterns, so kids can create a variety of cookies. They can serve the cookies with the included wooden toy spatula. When playtime is over kids can store the cookies in the durable dough tube so they're ready for next time. Super cute, nice quality and my grandson immediately began to play cooking cookies. The pan filled with cookies and frosting had a decent weight but was still light enough for a 2 1/2 year old. Everything was assembled straight away and pieces attach together with Velcro. My only complaint would be that the spatula would be better if it too had a Velcro circle like the cookie, frosting and baking pan do so that the cookies could stay on the spatula.

Thinking about purchasing this for your future chef(s) but afraid they might put it into the real oven instead of their own play oven? Have no fear, your little rascals can put this bad boy in the oven without you noticing and when you preheat the oven it won’t melt or catch fire! Use your oven mitts because it gets HOT! But still looks brand new! 10/10 recommend. Thanks Melissa and Doug for making products with wood and not plastic.(For legal reasons, I would highly recommend not using this toy baking sheet as an actual baking sheet)
