I'm the first one to review this superb collection of oldies hits from the fifties. That's weird, since it's a really good collection that puts the listener in the right mood - or, in other words - bring him straight back to the 50's!The fact that was so surprising for me was, how many songs I did recognized when I first listened to the 2 cd set. I'm a child of the eighties, and still, I could easily humm with most of the songs here. A really nice selection of songs and performers, a good background music while working or reading.I really love the fact that the tunes were not long back then - 3 minutes maximum.In this way, if the song is a little bit silly - and a lot of successful songs in the fifties were a bit silly - it passes by very quickly, and you're not starting to get annoyed.Also, this collection is the kind of those collections that reminds very clearly: There was some good music before the eighties. Really!For some reason, that's a collection I put on play especially on a rainy day, or when I'm alone with myself and want to have some laughes...I love all the songs here, good choices, but especially I enjoyed the ones by Debbie Reynolds, Paul Anka, Elvis Presley, Doris Day, and The Chordettes. But, anyway, every tune here is a gem. Don't hesistate on buying this piece of nostalgia, innocence and simplicity (when compared to today's music, I mean).Have a great time back in the fifties! An era to remember and cherish!

THIS IS ONE HELL-OF-A CD SET! All the songs are from the artists listed. It may be true that the versions on this set are not the most popular today (examples: you get I Believe by Frankie Lane, not The Earls, Ain't That A Shame by Pat Boone, not Fats Domino, Sh-Boom by the Crew Cuts, not The Chords) but they probably are the originals, sound great and were high on the 50's charts. Many of the big hits of the 50s that current generations may be more familiar with were remakes . This CD set takes you back into the gentler Pop Standards era of the 50s with some early Rock n Roll mixed in. The digitally remastered sound enhances the music. Five star all the way! CAUTION: USE THE TRACK LISTING IN THE JEWEL CASE PHOTO, NOT THE ONE in the Bolo description!
