I have to start out saying I am a family member of a former ConAgra employee and grew up eating these when they were marketed as a product by Hunt's before being sold to Chef Boyardee. It's exactly the same. That being said, this tastes absolutely nothing like regular macaroni and cheese. Not like anything homemade or from a box. The distance in flavor is comparable to the difference between Spam and actual ham. It's more like a part margarine, part butter, part soy concoction. If you go in knowing that, you might actually like it. This is one of those products you will either totally love or absolutely hate. I personally enjoy it. I think most kids will eat it, but if you didn't grow up with it, your mileage may vary.

i am not a fan of this product when eaten as is; however, i rely on this product often because i mix with cooked broccoli &/or black pepper &/or hot sauce &/or herbs or spices, or even a teaspoon of salad dressing [i usually use balsamic & EVOO] ... i am very fond of the broccoli mixture & eat it often ... a plus is that 1 serving of the product is low calorie ... in other words, i find the product versatile, & this product allows the cook to be creative ...

I think that the portion size is a bit skimpy so I make two servings for myself. It is very cheesy ( meaning tasty ) so I highly recommend it to all mac & cheese lovers. It tastes similar to Kraft and is even tastier when served with a little BBQ sauce.
