I recommend following the directions, but with a slight modification. When you first spray this on the belt (with the engine running), it will cause the belt to have a loud screeching/squeaking noise, which will be way worse than how it was before. I sprayed it on sparingly with the engine running until I felt the belt had a very light coating and the squeaking disappeared. After a day or so the squeaking would resume, and I'd do that process again. This continued for several times, until one day it just stopped squeaking. So I think the key is that it needs to be applied sparingly, but several times, and allowed to soak in. After a sufficient amount has soaked in, it seems to work. It kept me from having to buy a new belt, as my current one is in great shape but just squeaks. It doesn't last forever, though. I seem to recall it lasts about six or eight months, and then you have to spray it down again. It doesn't turn an old belt into a new belt, but it turns an old, dry, squeaky belt into an old, conditioned, quiet belt.

Driving an old 25 year old BMW that was making chirping noises in the belt pulley area under the hood. I tried everything. Took it to two repair shops, had pulleys checked and replaced, new belts, pulley alignment and the noise would just not go away and was driving me insane. Even tried dialectic grease. I would have tried this product earlier but the so called internet car experts said never use this on a belt. Boy are they wrong. I applied about a third of the can on my belts and the chirping squealing noises disappeared. It's been a month now so it does last. I ordered more and keep a can in my car in case it starts chirping again but haven't heard anything yet. Will most likely need to be reapplied at some point.

This product DID quiet my squeaky belt. But this DOES NOT fix the problem. I was driving to work everyday and was embarrassed by a very noisy belt. Spraying this in the morning helped quiet things down to avoid further embarrassment. I found I had to use it every other day. It did not eliminate the noise it just made it less loud. In the end It was my alternator bolt that came loose and caused a misalignment. This is something that absolutely had to be fixed. So again this is not a fix, it just makes the noise bearable until you can properly fix the problem.

Had to apply once a day over three days. It did help to reduce the belt noise, I can still hear the noise but it reduced it significantly. I would buy again if the noise comes back. Per my mechanic, it would cost a great deal to go in and replace the fan belt pulley (mechanic said it was still safe to drive).

Does not work. My belt would only squeak on damp mornings so I sprayed this on and made it 10 times worse. A week has gone by and belt squeaks on every start up now and will only go away if driven for a while. Save your money and go buy a new belt.

Sprayed belts on my Mill, Compressor, Lathe and Band Saw. All were somewhat to noticeably quieter. Seems a good product, and will likely last me for years with the equipment I have.
Excellent for a slipping belt but not a good conditioner
My serpentine car belt was slipping so this helped give it an excellent grip. It is not greasy or creamy so it will not condition well but it gives it a nice stick without attracting dust and debris. I used a quarter of the bottle the first time and the belt stopped slipping but it kept making noise and got worse. I then used another quarter bottle a few days later, the grip got even better but it did not condition the belt at all, the noise got even worse. I ended up loosening the alternator bolt a little and then pulled it forward with a small pry bar which made the belt tighter. The noise is gone completely now. I guess that is all that was needed to get rid of the noisy slipping belt. This will give me at least another year or two before I really need to really replace the belt as the old one looks great.
