This is the second Whitmor shelf assembly that I have ordered off Bolo. The first one is over five years old and is holding up very well. The new one I just purchased is of the same quality and is quite sturdy. Very easy to assemble.Quite pleased with product.

I have 9 of these Whitmor wire shelving units in various sizes throughout my home and garage in various sizes. (Obviously, I love 'em!) I got this 4-tier one for my home office. I have a narrow (under 20" wide) space in a corner between an armoire and a wall. Prior to this shelving unit I've had a filing cabinet there, but I could never utilize the height of the space until I placed this wire shelving unit.----------------------------------------WHY I LIKE WHITMOR WIRE SHELVING1. It's well made.2. Included instructions are easy to follow.3. It's easy for almost anyone to put together within 30 minutes.4. There is no need for tools to assemble it.5. The finished product looks great!6. You can configure it in multiple ways; eliminating shelves if needed, to accommodate various sized items as your needs change.7. The generous weight capacity (350 pounds evenly distributed for this shelving unit) has never failed me. No bending or breaking!8. The metal has a powder coated finish that doesn't rust, even in humid weather. I have three in my garage that despite being several years old, have made it through several wet winters with high humidity and extreme heat of 120 degrees during the summer.--------------------------------THE WAYS I'VE USED WIRE SHELVING UNITS OF VARIOUS SIZES:+ As a desk for my teenager.+ As a standing workstation for computers.+ Under my sink in the bathroom to hold toiletries.+ In my garage to hold pantry items and storage boxes.+ On my patio to hold yard maintenance supplies.+ In my home office.+ In my home gym.--------------------------------------------TIPS for PUTTING SHELVING TOGETHER:1. When you install the first shelf; which will be the bottom shelf, determine if you want to use the floor as storage space (see photos) and place the shelf accordingly.2. When placing the first two shelves, consider doing it with the shelving unit on its side on the floor. This is much easier if one person is constructing it alone. Stand it up to place the other two shelves.3. Have a hammer handy to knock the shelves loose to re-position them if you happen to inadvertently place them in the wrong position.4. Consider cutting shelf liners for the shelves out of cardboard, then covering them with contact paper (the Dollar Store has it) to prevent small items from falling through the wire shelves. Bolo does sell shelf liners, but they are more expensive than this DIY method.5. If you get some hooks and either a shower curtain or canvas curtains with grommets, you can put them around the unit and hide the storage. I did this with one that I used as a TV stand (TV on top shelf) and it looks great!-----------------------------------------As I stated before, I have a lot of these shelving units in various sizes. I find them a relatively inexpensive way to add functional furniture and storage to various spaces. I bought this 4-tier piece from the Bolo Warehouse as a 'Used - Like New in original packaging' item. The box was damaged, but the contents were perfect. I would not hesitate to buy from the Bolo Warehouse again, but if you do - be sure to read the product descriptions and buy from Bolo to make sure you have a good returns policy on the item. I also obtained Prime shipping on the deal, and saved about 30% more than if I'd bought it new.I recommend this product to others looking for a sturdy, easy to setup shelving unit.-------------------NOTE: Photos are of the 4-tier shelving unit that is 54" high, 36" long and 18" wide. I have blue containers underneath the bottom shelf to demonstrate how you can utilize the space from the floor up. The photo of the corner of the unit has a plastic spacer (gray with 'top' written on it) and shows the corner of the shelf about to be placed on it.

Since there are 5 of us, we buy large bottles of detergent, bleach and softener at warehouse Club and this rack holds it all, the old plastic unit could not support the weight so we ended up leaving bottles on the washer or the floor which got in the way.We purchased this cart to replace the plastic three drawer unit that had become a "dust collector" which was purchased because our new front loader washer was wider and we could not fit the old 12-1/2" wide drawer unit. Currently we have a 7.1 cubic foot GE dryer and a 4.3 cubic foot Samsung Steam Washer. The combination leaves 10-1/2" [26.7 cm] from the washer to the wall, but leaves only 10" [25.4 cm] because the door casing takes up 1/2" [12.7 mm].This unit fit perfectly coming in at 9-1/8" [23.2 cm] wide X 22-1/2" [57.2 cm] long X 31-3/4" [80.6 cm] high including wheels. 9-3/8" [23.8 cm] wide at the wheels.The only complaint I have about this unit are the wheels. They are 1-1/2" [5.1 cm] diameter light duty. That is why I gave it 4 stars, because we can't give half stars. In comparison, the Whitmor Laundry sorter has 3" [7.6 cm] diameter heavy duty wheels.You will need a rubber mallet or a piece of wood and hammer to properly assemble this cart. When the company I work for moved to a new facility, I assembled dozens of commercial/industrial racks, so this was a snap for me to assemble, except that shelf supports face up and not down as with industrial rack units and a cheaper similar unit here on Bolo. This was a great idea by Whitmor, the supports keeps your stuff on the narrow shelf! Pay the extra money for this unit it is worth not having all your stuff fall off when moving it around or rolling it out.Someone who never assembled one of these units wrote the instructions, DO NOT put on the wheels unit until after unit is assembled, the wheels go on LAST. You will want a smooth flat floor, like in a basement, laundry room, garage or kitchen. There are markings on the poles, every fifth marking/groove has a double line. The second or lower line is not as deep (do not use). The top of the pole has a black plug, the bottom has a threaded insert where the wheels screw into after assembly.There are 30 marking along the length of the poles and you can place the shelves anywhere you like on those marking. There are two black plastic pieces or inserts which fit onto the pole together and wedge the shelf into place, so it is important to make sure you are at the same location on the poles. Remember there is a double line every fifth mark. There is a ridge inside the insert that "locks" into those marked grooves on the poles. Once you have decided where your shelves will be push on half of the insert just above that groove then slide down unit it "snaps" into that groove, then attach the other half which will be automatically located by the fingers on the insert halves. Place the inserts on all four legs/poles and carefully place the shelf into place. After you have all four corners of the shelf over the inserts, lightly tap with mallet or piece of wood and hammer each corner "into place" then a firmer tap in each corner.Start with the bottom shelf and make sure it is flat and straight, or the cart will rock because all the wheels will not be flat on the floor. When doing the first/bottom shelf, I put one leg in at a time and tap it lightly until all four legs are secure. If the wheels are installed, the cart will roll all over the place while you are trying to install the shelves. (And probably use some very colorful language.) This is why you need to put the wheels on LAST, so you can make sure the first shelf is "square". (I had to disassemble and reassemble several industrial units at work because someone built them with the wheels on and did not get the inserts in the right locations.)I placed the shelves on the first groove, 15th (middle) groove and the 30th (last) groove. This way we get the most vertical usable space. The middle shelf you can move up or down depending on how tall or short your bottles or objects are.With tape measure in hand, went to the local big box store and purchased those inexpensive (disposable/reusable) Glad 64 oz [1.89 L] "Deep Dish" 3 pack for less than $3. And in these containers we put the vacuum cleaner belts, shoe cleaner and other odds and ends that were in the drawers...and they stack perfectly on the shelf increasing the usable storage space. The space between the "lips" is 8-5/8" [22 cm]. I had to try several stores but finally found a "pop corn bucket" at a discount store to use to hold the dryer lint (the small plastic storage bin barely lasted one day) and the bag the "bucket" came in was the first liner too boot!At first I thought I made a mistake with this cart. I was reaching back to get the bleach and soap...then I realized, its on wheels. I roll the cart out and everything is in easy access. Chlorine bleach on the bottom shelf along with shout and glad containers. Fabric softener, spray starch and oxyclean on the middle shelf and the biodegradable organic soap and all fabric bleach on the top shelf along with the lint bucket.With our Whitmor laundry sorter, doing laundry is so much easier. Now if someone can figure out how make the clothes fold and put themselves away... ;)

The quality is top notch and it assembles VERY easily. A bonus that I didn't realize until I placed it in the room is that the open concept (wire shelves versus solid) makes the room seem less crowded. I am surprised at the difference the wire shelves make, even when fully stocked. Also I install the lowest shelf 10" from the floor, basically making the floor an additional shelf. I don't know how high one could go but 10" doesn't seem to have affected the stability. The unit is rock solid. This is all I could find related to height of the bottom shelf. "NSF requires that the lowest shelf be at least 6" (152 mm) above the floor."

Recently switched from a front load washer to a top load.Didn't want to have detergent sitting on top of the dryer, for fear of vibration knocking everything to fall on floor.Was originally going to put a cart in front of laundry sink and still might but this fits perfectly between the washer and dryer.I like that I can pull it out as needed and it tucks away again.It holds a large Costco size box of powdered detergent at the bottom plus a less often used stain remover. The middle shelf holds a box of borax and washing soda, and a detergent jug. The top holds a detergent jug plus Lysol wipes, and a small container for dryer lint.The cart was easy enough to assemble. The instructions were fairly clear. It was a little fiddly doing it alone, but I had my husband help at the end.I like that the wheels lock, if needed. It looks great, and not at all cheap-looking like many plastic carts. I like that it's sturdy chrome and not plastic.It's very durable and well made. Excellent warranty.I bought on sale so it was quite reasonably priced.

Not as strong as I'd hoped

This is ok. The wire basket is very thin, the whole thing isn't as strong as the heavy chrome shelving.Its a bit meh. It does a job but a bit disappointed it wasn't more weighty.

Works great. Have assembled larger units of the same style ...

Used this unit on the bottom and stacked two of the Whitmor 6054-584 on top to use in a small closet. Works great. Have assembled larger units of the same style so this was easy to assemble and combine with the other units. Tubing is smaller compared to larger units, but strong enough. Levelling feet are helpful. Delivered quickly. Works great.

Es perfecto para espacios pequenos, lavandería y es resistente

Anteriormente tenia de los carritos de plástico para poder guardar el jabón para lavar la ropa, pero se le salían las llantas todo el tiempo y no resistía, encontré este y ya lo tengo desde varios meses y no me ha fallado. Es muy practico, las ruedas de deslizan sin problema, aguanta mucho mas peso que los de plástico, lo tengo en un espacio pequeño donde esta la lavadora, en una repisa tengo cosas pesadas de despensa como latas y abajo los productos de lavandería, no se ha oscurecido el metal, vale la pena la compra.Actualización a Enero 2021: ya tengo un año con este producto. En los comentarios hay uno mencionando que las rueditas son frágiles, pero estoy en desacuerdo con eso. Como comentaba ya tengo un año con el carrito y hasta el momento no me ha decepcionado, aguanta bastante peso, las rueditas tienen su seguro el cual aún funciona, se desliza sin problema a pesar de que ya ha tenido uso. De hecho estoy pensando en adquirir otro para otra parte de la cocina y que me serviría para almacenar más cosas.
