I must confess!!Gotta get this off my chest to someone!!!My motives were undeniably unpure,and here's how & whyI bought a pair of Thera-Band Door Anchors (probably would have swiped them if the opportunity had arisen)not only as an execise aid, but more importatntly to see how they worked. You see I wanted to make some for my own use."I can do this better & cheaper" said I to me.Upon seeing the bands, reality reared it's pragmatic head.Nyet!! Cannot do!!!Why?Because these Door-Anchors are the model of brilliant simplicity.They function perfectly,holding securley in the door slot; can be easily adjusted up & down to provide the proper angle of pull for each exercise; and they allow the quick changing of band strengths without removing the anchor from the doorAnd when you're done just slip them on out of the slot & put them away, or leave them in the door ready to go the next time.Nothing could be easier.And I figerred it all out without readin' no darned instructions.So when you,(as I ), think you can find a simpler, better way to quickly and easily set up an excercise station, think no further, waste no more energy in your effort to expend some.Simply & brilliantly purchase these Thera-Band Door Anchors.PapacucuNovember 3, 2008

I have been going through Physical Therapy for an achilles injury and my Physical Therapist had me doing some great exercises using the CLX Resistance bands with loops on the CLX system. I tried to copy these exercises with my regular old therabands to no avail. I couldn't rightfully buy a CLX system, nor could I afford one! So when I saw this I thought I'd give it a try. It works LIKE A CHARM! Now it's like any door in my home can act as a CLX system! And for just a tiny cost! I'll be using this a LOT from here on out for PT as well as training when my achilles heals and I'm back to full running form.

This is a very effective tool for using the thera-band while it is wedged between the passage way door and the door jamb. HOWEVER, the portion of the door anchor through which the thera-band is weaved to keep the thera-band from slipping off the door anchor has a problem: it chews up the thera-bands. As the thera-band is stretched while being used, the thera-band rubs back and forth across the rough end of the door anchor. The rubbing causes the thera-band to break after only two workouts. THE SOLUTION is to take some soft material and wrap it around the end of the thera-band before the thera-band is woven through the rough end. When the wrapped thera-band is stretched during the exercises, the thera-band rubs against the soft cloth and not the rough end. So far this has eliminated the tearing of the thera-band.

This addition to exercise tubing/bands is extremely useful. Although you can tie the tubing directly to a fixture, this is inconvenient and may cause nicks or scrapes in the tubing which is dangerous -- can lead to tubing snapping under stress, and the recoil can cause injury. The woven strap on this accessory is sturdy, and fits easily into a closed door. Save and easy to use.

I do not recommend this product! I had mine for only a few months and the foam ring broke while using the product. The bands and strap retracted really fast and hit me the face close to my eye which gave me a nice bruise for a few days. I am now using a different type from another company with out the foam parts. I am always careful with my equipment. I check and make sure there are no strains, rips or tears before using equipment. The foam ring that you place behind the door seemed fine prior to use. It broke apart within the first 18 reps of my exercise. I thought this was a well made product but it proved me wrong. I pray no one else has or will have the same experience as I have with the Thera-Band Door Anchor.

I highly recommend all of TheraBand's band and tube products. My physical therapists recommended my using them for rehabilitation while undergoing physical therapy for purposes of strengthening and conditioning following shoulder surgery. This door band is another very helpful product of theirs which, when working with various bands and tubes by utilizing a door, keeps the band/tube secure and stationery preventing it from popping out of the door frame. Of course, you still need to consult with your doctor and PT to make sure this product is helpful and not harmful given your particular injuries.

Good door anchor
This is a good durable door anchor to use with my resistance tubing. The door anchor part itself is made from thick rubber so do ensure that there are no gaps in the door when you fix it or it might bend and come loose when you pull. The strap is also strong and easy to adjust.
