4.0 out of 5 stars after some research I found that the Tacoma's work best when Denso or OEM sensors are used

    c. · December 5, 2015

My Tacoma was throwing a code for the o2 sensor, after some research I found that the Tacoma's work best when Denso or OEM sensors are used. Those with a 1st gen Tacoma, should make sure to they know the difference between the o2 sensor and the AF sensor at the front of the cats. I received my o2 sensor and after inspecting it put it into my truck. I cleared the codes and checked the sensor readings, SUCCESS! The sensor was reporting back within spec and I thought all was good. The next day while driving down the road I noticed that Torque App was reporting no reading from the o2 sensor that was just replaced. After the computer cycled my check engine light came back on as the o2 sensor was once again not showing a reading. Annoyed I checked the connections to make sure all was properly connected. I ended up having to send the sensor back for an exchange. I had my new sensor in 2 days and the second one worked like a charm when plugged in. Even though the first sensor appears to be have possibly been faulty, I would still give this item 4 stars. I would honestly give the sensor 5 stars if there wasn't that question of whether the first sensor was faulty or if my truck some how fried it. I would not hesitate to order this sensor again, and I still recommend it to all my friends with Tacomas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for 04 Tacoma

    F. · August 16, 2023

Bank 1 sensor 2 , directly by the catalytic converter underneath the truck bed right before the rear wheel on passenger side. I purchased a cheaper off brand 2years ago it worked but check engine light came back on a few weeks ago. Decided to purchase the Denzo for $65 and it works perfectly. Installing is easy the connector plug under the passenger seat is easy to get to. I have the 04 tacoma 2.4L rear wheel base 5speed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Janky fit but it seems to work

    E. · March 29, 2017

I have a 2000 2.7L Tacoma Pre Runner Regular Cab. The cable for this sensor is too long and there is no need for the rubber gasket. It's also missing a clip that inserts into a bracket near the muffler hanger. I had to double loop the cable and use zip ties so it doesn't hang. The perforated sensor tip is a smaller diameter than the original one. I'm not sure if this is the correct sensor, but research tells me it is. The check engine light is off and it seems to be running smoothly. The harness fits the plug. I'll update later.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement for 2.4L Manual 5 Speed 2000 Tacoma - Passed Smog

    C. · March 31, 2022

Replaced this sensor after I couldn't get the Catalyst OBD monitors to turn into "Ready" state. They showed as not ready/incomplete and could not go pass Smog. There was no check engine light or stored codes but decided to change the sensor anyway as the downstream (post catalyst) sensor is the one that monitors your catalytic converter to ensure it is working properly. The original downstream O2 sensor was still on with 265,000 miles! After replacing and driving for 10 minutes on the highway the Catalyst monitor went into "Ready" status. The sensor is exactly as the previous one that was there. Can't go wrong with Denso products. For those having issues with Smog this could be a solution!
