This is the sharpest, most handy mandolin for slicing cucumbers! It works for other things too but read the dimensions. I use it much more than my larger countertop one

Simplicity = perfect!It's virtually impossible to walk into a store and get a simple slicer/mandoline. They all try to be a Swiss army knife when all you need is to just slice stuff... not survive on a desert island. This thing is sharp, so treat it like a razor and pay attention when you're using it.Besides being darn good at slicing, it's a breeze to clean, unlike those other mandolines that have 87 attachments and tiny areas where food gets stuck forcing you to futz around near a very sharp blade.Worth every penny!

Just the best. I use it daily - radishes, cucumbers, carrots, more. You don't need the higher priced version with the stand and additional attachments. This one lays flat over a bowl, it's easy to hold at a slant over a board or plate, and it's lightweight and can hang on utility hooks with other kitchen implements. Extremely sharp - wear steel mesh gloves!

I'm a chef and I own three of these. They cut wonderfully. Great weight and design. The metal tines on the attachments do eventually get bent with regular use - you can probably buy replacements but I just keep using them and still work alright.

By far the best mandolin for the money; absolutely no question about it. Not a surprise you see these in pro-kitchens—and in the background on cooking shows all the time…Do yourself a favor and buy a safety glove!
