I bought this fuel pump to replace mine that had started to leak. It installed exactly where the old one was and I had no problems in installation. I have replaced fuel pumps on this truck before and installation was difficult , not with this product. Pump seems to be made to OEM standards and has performed without any problems. I would buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fuel Pump Was Easy To Install On my 83 4x4 Toyota
I am re-storing this old 1983 Toyota 4x4 and I just pulled out the fuel tank cleaned it up put in new lines and had to replace this older pump. Was simple and fit like a glove. I opened up a Beer and before it was done, the new pump was installed. Not hard just have to be sure to make sure the new pump seats into where it goes before turning over the motor. Item easy as said, if doing this the first time for anyone go on-line to follow any instructions given for your vehicle you are working on. I think I still had about two drinks left of my beer before it was done. So far holding up just fine.

This is the pump you want. For starters, it's made by Carter, and they make top notch pumps for many brands of cars. This pump also included the factory gasket spacer between the head and the pump as well as the two paper gaskets that go on each end of the spacer. This spacer is pivotal. I made the mistake of ordering one through advance auto parts and the arms were not bent in the factory orientation, and the junk didn't even come with any gaskets whatsoever, and I had to half @$$ install it, because the rubber fuel hoses weren't long enough to seat properly because the metal pump arms were bent outwards where they should of been downwards. I got home but not without gas leaked all over my engine. Thankfully nothing caught fire. The advance auto brand will work but you have to replace your 1/4" hoses to make them long enough to seat correctly. I detest when something aftermarket isn't even close to the OEM design. Long story short, I just purchased this one and while I now will have new hoses going to it, I would not have had to do that if the d@mn pump design was right to begin with from advance auto parts. Oh and the pump through advance auto was 56 bucks!!! Lesson learned. Buy this pump. Extremely satisfied.SEE PICTURE: Pump in drain hole of sink is the OEM Toyota brand pump that started leaking after 38 years. Guess I can't complain 😂. Pump in gloved hand is this Carter pump. It's 100% identical.

The pump came quickly and all part needed to include spacer. Unit worked great right from the beginning and got back up and running. Running great for over a month now.

Fit fine and works better than the 25-year old pump that was on there (see photo). The new pump looked a little more ephemeral (just look and feel when handling) than the old one hence 4 stars. If it is still going in 25 years, I will bump it 5 stars.
