These are such nice latte glasses. They are very stylish and feel study without being clunky and thick.Update: I have dropped these glasses several times in my sink and they haven't broken but the most astonishing thing happened yesterday when I accidentally knocked one off from counter height onto my tile floor and it still did not break. These glass latte cups are amazing and beautiful.

Man muss dem Glas lassen, was des Glases ist: Es tut, was es soll. Es hält dicht, bricht das Licht charmant und liegt in der Hand wie der feste Händedruck eines alten Freundes. Haptisch also ein voller Erfolg. Doch hier enden die Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen mir und dem Glas – oder vielmehr zwischen mir und der häuslichen Verfügungsgewalt über selbiges.Während ich, ein Mann mit gesundem Flüssigkeitsbedarf, die 0,5-Liter-Klasse – den sogenannten „Humpen der Vernunft“ – priorisieren würde, unterliegt unsere Küche dem Diktat meiner Frau. Und sie liebt die „Kleinen“. Jene filigranen Gefäße, die so schnell leer sind, dass der Akt des Trinkens weniger der Erfrischung dient, sondern eher einem hektischen Intervalltraining gleicht.Die Folge? Ich wandere nun stets als vollgepackter Sherpa durchs Wohnzimmer: In der linken Hand das winzige Glas, in der rechten die unvermeidliche Flasche zum permanenten Nachfüllen. Ein mobiles Zapfsystem aus Fleisch und Blut.„Aber wir haben doch große Gläser!“, höre ich den geneigten Leser rufen. Oh ja, die haben wir. Doch diese wurden Opfer einer schleichenden Annexion. In unserem Haushalt dienen meine geliebten Halbliter-Gefäße längst nicht mehr der Aufnahme von Hopfenkaltschalen oder Wasser. Nein, sie wurden kulturell enteignet und dienen nun als Vasen.Wenn ich mir die Schnittblumen so ansehe, die in meinen Gläsern thronen, muss ich feststellen: Diese Pflanzen haben offenbar einen größeren Brand als ich. Sie saufen wie die Löcher, und das völlig ungeniert aus dem großen Kaliber.Mein einziger Trost in dieser Tragödie der Zweckentfremdung? Ich besitze im Gegensatz zum Ficus oder der Tulpe Daumen und Beine. Ich kann Flasche und Glas transportieren. Die Pflanzen müssen warten, bis man ihnen einschenkt. Zumindest diesen kleinen evolutionären Sieg lasse ich mir nicht nehmen, während ich mir zum achten Mal in drei Minuten mein Fingerhut-Glas nachschenke.
