I was a bit skeptical about what I was going to get for such a low price but I could not be happier! I got this screen to sit in front of my gas fireplace, so I could keep my 9 month old from touching the glass and getting burnt. The screen worked perfectly. It's sturdy, visually pleasing and versatile, well-made, and looks like it will last for years to come. I love that the hinges are stiff enough that if someone were to sneeze, it wont fall over, but will also allow easy adjustment of the angled panels. While my living room has a classic look to it, this screen looks nice and goes well with the rest of the room. I feel it would look good in any style actually... modern, rustic, contemporary.... maybe not elegant though. Thpught it was funny when i went to my sisters for thanksgiving, and had bought the exact same screen for her wood fireplace! Definitely will buy another for my other fireplace downstairs.

Bought to serve as a barrier between a piece of furniture and a wall (where a gate is impossible), to seclude my semi-timid greyhound from an area as needed. She will not chance touching it for fear of an unexpected crash and it therefore serves as a (nice-looking, blends with my furnishings) visual reminder to stay put. I did put silicone bumpers on the bottom to prevent possible scratching of the floor. The item is a quality built piece with no assembly or installation needed. I would never risk it's use for a rambunctious puppy and certainly not a child.

I bought this screen to place in front of a wood burning stove when the doors are open for viewing the fire.It seems as thought it will work perfectly. The center panel ( largest part ) is the exact width of the stove itself. The side hinged panels adjust easily and can be place so the the open doors of the stove are enclosed .The screen should do a very good job of keeping the sparks from escaping the screen.The screen itself is of a lighter weight than my more expensive ones, but that can be expected.The solid black is versatile . Handles would be a nice addition - but might get too warm to be practical.All in all this is a good choice for a neutral style and color - at a pretty good price.

Economic price and functional use. It is sturdy and does a great job of keeping sparks off my wood floors. It's not 'ornamental' by any means, but it is finished with a nice hard paint that shows no signs of chipping or wear even after a month of continual use and movement. The hinges move nicely without sticking or being so loose you're afraid it'll fall over and collapse. I only gave four stars though because it is rather plain for the price. A little bit of scroll or vine or flourish would have been nice for paying what I did. But, the picture is true to the product, so I did know this before hand. I would still recommend this to anyone who asked about it.

Great product For $30
This screen is perfect for $30. I'm not sure what people are complaining about with it. It's for ideal keeping my kids away from the fireplace while it's hot. Yes, it's aluminum. Yes, it's light. Yes, you could probably bend it over your knee if you really wanted to. But it's $30! If you want a big, strong, cast iron one, pay the $200-$400 and get one.
