Now that I've moved up from bike to car, I still find it an essential product in my life. I took a chance on this "crystal" model of simple green. I think I still prefer the true green stuff- maybe because I grew up with it. But this works JUST AS WELL. It probably is safer for engines/automotive applications. While I could not tell a huge difference in performance, I did notice a couple differences. 1) It's main purpose is for use as an automotive/Industrial degreaser. 2) It's a couple bucks cheaper on Bolo than the regular Simple Green. 3) No funny smell like the green stuff. There is a helpful dilution chart on the bottle as well as on the simple green website (for their "crystal" product). For anyone else interested in automotive grime cleaning- If there is heavy residue/grease Simple Green suggests a dilution of 1 part water : 1-15 parts simple green. I used a 1:4 ratio, but would even go to 1:2.Just common sense, make sure you don' get this product (water especially) into the alternator, starter, fusebox, coil pack, or any wire connections. If you are buying this product for engine bay cleaning make sure you seal off ALL openings before spraying around.

I use this to clean the drive train of my bicycle before washing it, It works well and is less expensive than niche marketed products. i mix it 50-50 or so with water in one of those foaming hand soap bottles and pump simple green foam onto my chain and gears., this allows it to sit there and creep in and remain in contact instead of running off. I'm probably a little prouder of that idea than I should be, but go ahead and try it and you'll feel smug too. Plus you can see where it's going,

This stuff did a fine job at de-greasing my bicycle. I mixed it to a medium ratio as listed on the Simple Green website (1:10). This stuff scrubbed on with a hard bristle brush made quick work of bicycle grease and grime. If I had one thing I didn't like about it for this purpose it's that it needs to be rinsed off and then dried. There are specialty de-greasers that require no rinse and evaporate dry but that's usually a small can and costs as much as this 1-gallon jug.Bottom line, if you're not scared of a little secondary and tertiary step after using this stuff get it. It's cheap and it works.

During a major repair job on my Sons Jeep, I sent him to pick up parts and a couple gallons of solvent for cleaning the dirty, greasy parts. Since petroleum solvent is no longer available I used this Crystal Simple Green as I would have the solvent.I've used Simple Green in the past, and appreciate the environmental properties of the product, but was doubtful of its comparative ability to clean burnt on oil and grease as well as a petroleum cleaner.I was truly amazed how efficiently and quickly it cleaned everything. I didn't use gloves and my fingers did get a little wrinkled after a few hours cleaning parts, but after rinsing and drying, they were fine.I have since reordered a few gallons of the Crystal Simple Green and refilled some 409 sprayers (and relabeled), placed them under the sinks throughout the house and shop. My wife came to me to compliment how well it cleans everything.It does have a bit of a breath taking affect if used full strength in an enclosed area, but with common sense and moderation, I'm sure even the Earth will appreciate your choice.

Simple Green is one of the most powerful cleaners on the market, it's worked wonders for stubborn dirt, stains and grease that other products just don't work on. It's not a miracle worker but it's very, very close. I usually don't even have to let it soak or sit on anything and yet it allows even a paper towel to wipe the most stubborn of dirt and grime clean.Buying it by the gallon is very economical and I suggest everyone have Simple Green as a staple in their cleaning products pantry. This and 409 are my go-tos for all cleaning needs. If 409 can't get something, this is guaranteed to! Other than that, I primarily use it for cleaning my bicycle frame and components. It's a great degreaser that hasn't harmed any of my bicycles to date!

This is really an amazing cleaner. I love that it's undiluted and you can dilute it as needed. We use it to clean everything.I had a crock pot that was sitting in storage for 3 years and it had quite a few grease stains. We took it out of storage the other day, sprayed some of this on it and let it sit, and today it looks good as new. It works extremely well, and the fact that it can do that while remaining non-toxic is why we use it as our primary cleaning solution.

This stuff definitely dissolves grease and removes grit, but it will not completely remove caked on grease/grime mixtures that are packed into crevices. For example, even after soaking bicycle bearings that are contained in cages, there is still quite a bit of visible residue inside the bearing cages that has not dissolved or become dislodged.If you can get a surface with a rag though, it works really, really well. Everything wipes clean after one application.
