There's one rule you must consider when considering a purchase audio products. The rule is this: It's impossible to get people to agree on an opinion for anything audio related.WIth that said, I spent a lot of time reading reviews from people who knock and praise this pedal.This pedal deliver phenomenal overdrive (think of overdriving a tube amp with tube rectifier). it's style of clipping gives a more vintage and warm feel of OD, especially compared to a boss sd-1When compared to a boss bd-2 it may sound less warm but not to fear but pedal is plenty warm and the "less warmth" is an illusion. I've found that this "less warm" feeling is not really the warm of the pedal rather the EQ. Just twist into the "+" mode and your problem is solved.Overall, this is a nice, sturdy, warm overdrive. I am personally glad i purchased over a TS9 or bd-2. I naturally chose it over a ts-808 because of price but i also because i'm not a huge fan of the sound of a ts-808.hope this helps.

The TS 808 is a classic pedal that is a must have on your pedal board. Works best with Fender type single coil pickups through a Fender type (mid scooped) amp because it seems to add a mid hump making for a full rich sound (iMHO). I have one in my collection and I bought this one for my son who plays a Fender Telecaster through a Fender Deluxe Reverb Amo.. If you play through a Vox voiced amp (mid hump) or a Marshall Amp you may want to consider an OCD or a Timmy pedal as they don't have that classic mid hump that a TS 808 has that can add to the natural mid hump of the amp. But for a Tele or a Strat through almost any fender amp .... It's tone heaven.

What else is there to say? The classic Ibanez TS808 is great for any musician wanting a boost. I use mine essentially as a clean boost with tone/dist on zero and level on max in front of my high gain 6505 and triple rec. It amazingly tightens up the tone and boosts the signal in this config. Price is what it is, these things never really change cost. I honestly feel naked without one of these or a ts9 in front of my rig.

I'm using it with a Fender Deluxe Reverb.. I don't often crank the amp, so at first I thought "where'd the bass frequencies go?" If you turn up, they're there, but actually even if you don't turn it up, it creates a pretty complex and pleasing overdrive. I bout the TC Electronics MojMojo at the same time...It's got the BASS no matter what volume, and I like it too! Still, this unit just sounds a bit more pleasing to the ear and to my taste it all seems to depend on the "tone" knob. I keep that near 11:00 or less and I really like it, although I can see why people would like to crank it over to 3o'clock; but that sound just doesn't appeal to me that much. So far, worthwhile pedal for the Amp I'm using it with.

A legendary reissue
I have been playing guitar for decades. Mostly classic rock, Rock N Roll, Pop rock and started playing blues-rock last decade.I bought this pedal a few months ago and sold it a few days later because I needed the money for a distortion pedal and did not use the TS808 much. Last evening I listened to a recording I made using the TS808 and listening to a forgotten solo Part, I could not believe I did not notice before how good this pedal sounded. It was the sound I heard on many recordings of my favorites blues-rock heroes. I ordered another one! I had to go the distortion pedal way first to realize how great this pedal is. For that great recording I was talking about I used it in front of Radial Hot British and Radial JDX for direct recording. A match made in heaven! I can’t wait to record solos again with that pedal.

a la recherche d un overdrive et après avoir lu d innombrabres commentaires elogieux ;et avoir regardé presque autant de démos en vidéo j ai opté pour le TS 808 Ibanez et je dois dire que je ne suis pas déçu ! l objet répond entierement a mes attentes .Branché avec une PRS S2 et un ampli Blackstar 40 w a lampes elle est juste parfaite .avec le gain a 10 heures et couplé a un compresseur on pourrait presque se prendre pour Gilmour ;voir Santana en exagerant sur le sustain du compresseur .en poussant le gain a 3 heures là c est le regeté Garry Moore qui vient vous faire coucou .Du plus leger au plus poussé le son reste toujours bien défini et compact et n etant jamais écrasé ni criard .En resumé . Un prix un peu élevé certe mais entierement justifié a mon avis .je le recommande donc vivement a ceux qui hésitent encore pour peu que vous ayez un ampli a lampes c est que du bonheur !
