I am an active senior male and use this supplement to increase my energy and add to my brain food regiment. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is one of the supplements that I have been giving my 93 year old mother to help reverse the effects an aging brain that has caused dementia. Most of the supplements are various antioxidants that help to protect brain cells and encourage new cell growth. This one is an amino acid which is a building block of protein that is naturally produced by the body and also found in food. As we age, the production of this protein declines.Acetyl-L-Carnitine readily convert to acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is critical for learning and concentration. Carnitine is a neuronal energizer and is essential for the production of energy by the mitochondria, the "powerhouse" of the cell. It transports fatty acids to the mitochondrial membrane where they are made into energy, and also helps remove waste products from the mitochondria-created energy production.In the last few months, I have done quite a lot of research on the reversal of dementia. This is only one of a few supplements that will support regeneration of new brain cells. Many supply various antioxidants that the body no longer produces, some rebuild mitochondria, and some rebuild neurons and help to develop new synaptic connections. Brain cells that have been killed by dementia can never be resurrected, but the brain will constantly grow if given the nutrients and tools that it needs to do so.I won't go into all we have done for my mother, or all of the improvements we have seen, but I can assure you that dementia or Alzheimer's is not an end-all. There really are things that can be done to stop and even reverse both. I have seen the results in my mother. In addition, through diet and supplement, we have reduced her medications from 10 to 1, and, according to her doctor, she has the blood work of a 20 year old. Not bad for a 93 year old lady!!

Well, I have fibromyalgia, and a host of problems seem to come along with it as the years pass by. In the last year I have developed tingling, pins and needles and burning in hands, forearms, legs and feet. These have increased to an alarming amount, so I talked with my MD. He suggested gabapentin or lyrica, or possibly vitamin E. Well, I did NOT want to do prescription medications. The side effects for those are horrible (I am an RN and have seen first hand; and basically they don't really work.) So went on a hunt and Acetyl-L Carnitine came up in my research. So I looked at several, and then gave this a try. I was AMAZED. I noticed a significant reduction in overall symptoms beginning in less than a week. I have now been using the stuff for almost a month and am almost completely SYMPTOM FREE. One hold out spot on my great toe on my left foot, but that is significantly reduced. I am really pleased with how effective this has been for my " pins and needles". Give it a try. Maybe it will work as well for you.

I read in several places that Acetyl-L-Carnitine could be helpful for peripheral neuropathy. I have tried a lot of supplements, but these really make a difference for me. To be honest, nothing I've tried has been a dramatic improvement, but with these, I know if I have forgotten to take them. (Similar to the same effect I've noticed when I am late taking, or forget to take my Gabapentin.) The only CON I can think of with these is...... they make your pee stink, kinda like a sulfur-ish smell?If you are reading this because of peripheral neuropathy, I would also mention another thing I have recently found that is helpful for me when applied topically. That is Traumeel S, which I apply to my feet once when I get up and again just before bed. I've tried other arnica gels, but they really didn't do anything.So, that's my experience and opinion, your mileage may vary. If you have PN, you probably know we'll try anything to help.

AND Money saver since I don't have to hire someone to come in and clean my house anymore due to lack of energy. OMG, I got this because I was wore out by noon and had no energy to clean my house after getting up at 5 and taking care of dogs. My maid couldn't come one day and my not being a patient person decided to see if I could get some more energy somehow. I researched and ordered a few things, but THIS is the sh*t~! After just ONE DOSE I noticed a HUGE difference!! I did my normal routine and then cleaned my whole house and did laundry and still wasn't tired. I will NEVER be without this supplement again.

I can’t believe this company has bowed down to making more profit over quality. No more biosint carnitin?!! if you compromised this product than I’m sure this company has cut more corners with other products they sell.Very disappointing.
