Speeds A/C service by removing the build-up of particulates on the orifice screen and restrictions that slow the flushing process. The basic tool works on General Motors and Ford vehicles and comes with additional adapters for 1985 and newer Ford models, 1989-91 General Motors 'J', 'L', and 'N' cars, and 1991 and newer 'C' and 'K' series trucks (for trucks with No. 3096068 orifices). This tool worked well on a Crown Vic 2005. Due to the very tight fit and the low pipe position it would have been impossible to remove or install the orifice tube without it. Make sure it is engaged propery. Practice on the new one if not sure.

This tool makes removing orifice tubes easy, and virtually eliminates the risk of the tube breaking inside the AC line.This kit is the same as OTC and a few other I believe. I have used the OTC set in the past. It is identical to this one, except for it came with instructions. The tool is easy enough to figure out, but when you only use it once or twice a year, a refresher course would be nice. So yes this set works just fine to safely remove orifice tubes. But if the OTC kit is about the same price, I would choose that one, as you might get the instruction book.

Broke on first use. Threaded rod snapped off inside puller. Come on ... it's designed to pull plastic & rubber from inside aluminum & they can't use steel strong enough to withstand a pulling force?

When you can't extract the orifice tube using a pick or screw driver this tool can usually get a stuck part out. A little clumsy to use but necessary on those tough jobs.
