5.0 out of 5 stars DVI cables are a dime a dozen nowadays...
Most "free" DVI cables are useable, but after a while of use, they deteriorate (see that hue coming through?). And when I moved 900 miles away from my stash of superb, bought cables, as a beggar I was given some really "bad" oem cables when I forgot to bring my cables with me. I had to get some quality DVI for my Linux workstation, otherwise I'd go nuts looking at the artifacts of bad DVI cables.Although I never have purchased from Cables to Go vendor before... I am a huge skeptic of product claims today, but with Bolo's return policy, I thought, let's try these cables due to the clearly outlined specs. The price was right as well.Although all of my DVI cables sitting 900 miles away have "chokes" on both ends, these cables did not. This was a concern, but, you know about beggars being choosy... I bought four of these cables to connect the LCD monitors. Upon arrival, I was happy to see a quality, sturdy construction, with solid connectors. Hooking the cables up (nice tight fit on both sides) and then firing up the workstation... Finally, a stable image and NO artifacts. I'm happy again. And after several connects and disconnects, all is still good and rock solid. The four cables I got were good, without any problems. Yes, I would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected
It works as expected, the only problem is if you own Windows 7 64bit Operating System RTM, and if you decide to reinstall it on your hard drive. You'll come across a black screen on booting the freshly installed Operating System. This has nothing to do with this vendor's cable, It's something that Windows has to fix. Just switch to a VGA cable and then switch it back to DVI when the system boots. This is just a heads up for you all. Other than that it's a very good cable and well worth it's price, pretty great on shipping too if you would like to hear that from me.Oh yes another thing too, If you expect a big difference in quality when you switch to DVI from VGA. You will not really find much of a difference if you have a medium resolution on your monitor. The larger the screen resolution gets, the blurrier it will appear. DVI can relieve that quite effectively. There's no big boost in frames for games either. So don't expect a big boost on your games if you decide to switch.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works As Expected
Using this cable to replace a failed DVI-D Single Link cable from my HP docking station to a DVI KVM switch. The old cable was slowly failing, and finally died one overnight so that I couldn't use the switch. I ordered this one to fix it quickly so I could get back to work. While my KVM and the laptop itself are the limiting factors (I can only go to 1920 x 1080 on my monitor from the docking station), I know that if I chose to, I could direct connect with this cable to my desktop and get some higher resolutions in the future. The cable is stiff, but not so much that you can't line it up or use it in tight confines.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Cable, Great Price
I put off buying a DVI cable when I bought my last PC because it was new technology and my budget was able to spend another $60-$80 on a video cable.Recently I was working on calibrating my monitor for color perfect workflow (so my digital photos would print the same way they look on screen and at the photo shoot). As I was doing this it occurred to me that I was still using a DVI to VGA converter from my video card and running an old-school VGA cable to my monitor. Because I felt silly using state of the art technology for color calibration while not using the same for my video connection. I looked around and found this cable on Bolo and ordered it.The cord comes packaged in a printed plastic zip-lock style bag. There are no instructions or documentation that come with it. Some people might find this odd, but you really don't need any documentation. It is a cable; you plug it in and screw down the connectors. The cable does its job. I have noticed that fine details are sharper and more clear. It is not mind-blowing, but it is better than VGA.The construction of the cable seems nice as well. It seems very sturdy. I know another reviewer said it was flimsy and another said the contacts were all bent, but this was not my case. The shielding is robust and the cable head seems well constructed. The connector pins were all in good condition. The screw connectors were made well and easy to use.For most people this will be a great cable. The length of this cable is about six feet so you are only running this cable from your computer to your monitor. This means the cable does not need to be "gold-plated" or "double insulated" or any of the other "sales terms" used by companies like Monster and Best Buy (Geek Squad). My recommendation is you save yourself $50 or more and buy this cable rather than getting charged quite a bit more for essentially the same product in different packaging at one of the retail chains.Overall, I would definitely purchase this again.-Cheers!
5.0 out of 5 stars Works, it's a cord what else
I didn't notice it from the pictures but this cable is pretty thick. The one I have with my monitor stock was a DVI-D (single link) and the cord was about half as thick or so it feels. Anyways it does the job, feels super strong and won't be having any problems with it. If you need the DVI-D cable such as this get it. Good price I got it at. And it fell $2 more so the price went to $6 now. Here's a little more info on DVI cables if you're confused:[...]. Read and get this info before purchasing before you make a wrong buy. Besides that there's not much to it. It's just a cable and works awesome.DVI definitely beats VGA for LCD/LED. Green tint gone, darkness gone, blurred or bleed out letters gone. Sharpness back, brightness back. Good stuff for DVI.
Works Great
This product was great, they were a bit "heavier duty" than the ones i was replacing but I feel they did what they are supposed to, and got me back to gaming. This also being my first purchase on Bolo I was impressed by the Quality of the product.
funcionan!!
Works great!
Still works great 2 yrs later. Satisfied.
Funcional
Muy buen producto, la calidad era la que esperaba
Does the job
Works as intended. No complaints.
