It was already on sale and had good reviews. Then I noticed they were offering a Used- Like New deal. I read it would come with the same items as a brand new one, and it did. Even the instruction book was new, it was wrapped in new packaging except for the original box which they shipped it it and looked a little beat. But the cooker itself was in pristine condition and I can't imagine it had ever been used. I love Presto and wanted Stainless and not Aluminum for cooking safety and I ended up getting what I wanted for half the price. This replaces one I loved that didn't make the move from my old house and I am thrilled to have this again. My thanks to Presto!

I purchased this to replace a 45 year old Presto that had been handed down to me. The old unit still worked but it was scorched and banged up from years of use. My husband insisted it was time to retire it and make a change. This model is easy to use, lighter weight and, because it's stainless steel and dishwasher safe it retains its beautiful shine and is easy to clean. We both use it and my husband is delighted with the purchase as well.

I bought this pressure cooker March of 2013 and was delighted when I received it. I grew up with pressure cookers and my mother had an old Presto one. The sound of the rocker brought back many memories...but I digress. I had to put it together, not a big deal, but became concerned when I realized that the base handle, the one on the pot itself, the one the lid handle locked onto, had only one relatively small screw to hold it to the pot. I was quite surprised as I felt it should have 2 or at least a bolt anyway but decided to work with it and just be very careful. I was. I did not over tighten the screw. I never carried it, picked it up or used just the base handle in any way, I always used both pot handles. I was careful putting the lid on and locking it in place. I focused on NOT allowing the heat to get too close to the handle, all to no avail. The handle began to loosen anyway and then I realized the screws were rusting. Really? Rusty screws? Along with a steadily loosening handle? What the heck? Then I tried to tighten the screw on the base handle and the screw would not move. I'm guessing it rusted in place.In addition, the quality of the stainless steel is not so good, not so stainless. I use Bar Keeper's Friend for all my stainless steel and it always does a fabulous job keeping the stainless clean and shiny, in some cases nearly like new. Not so with this Presto pressure cooker. No matter how hard I tried, there were always stains that would not come out, on the lid and on the sides inside the pot.In all fairness it did function beautifully as a pressure cooker. I've used it a lot, cooking rice, vegetables, pot roast, beans and other things and never had a problem in that way. However, it's just not worth it to me when there are other significant design flaws.It appears to me that Presto, attempting to save money, downgraded their quality while appearing to keep this item the same. Not so. This is not worth the time it would take me to purchase another one and I will not buy from Presto again. They have lost a customer for good. Now I have to buy another pressure cooker which means I had to do research all over again. I made a selection but I tell you straight, this one is no longer worth it. Don't waste your money on this pressure cooker, pay a little more and get one that is real stainless steel and will actually last you. This is not your mother's or grandmother's Presto pressure cooker that lasted for years. Frankly, you'd be lucky to get even a year out of it.

No whistling, only faint sound that usually is the precursor
You require a timer to know if the food is cooked. Whereas in traditional cookers, the weights go off and one can count on the whistle to tell you if the food might be cooked.

I wish I could give this pressure cooker 10 stars! For about 45 years, I've enjoyed and used my very simple but large Lagostina. Now that I'm alone, I wanted to be able to pressure cook small pot roasts and corned beef, etc. The chuck roast I cooked first came out beautifully - I knew then my 4-quart Presto was just perfect for my needs. Where it went over the top was when I cut a larger corned beef piece into two pieces, added about a cup of water, put the pieces on the insert that came with it, brought the Presto to the point where the top hissed strongly, lowered the heat so it hissed quietly - and an hour later had the most succulent, tender, juicy corned beef that just melted in my mouth. The stainless steel is high quality and cleans easily. The manual said I could put it in my dishwasher, but I'm so crazy about this wonderful pressure cooker that I hand wash it lovingly. I don't think I can praise the Presto Pressure cooker adequately. I'm just dithering with delight and strongly recommend it. Lastly, the price is reasonable! Don't even think about it - if you need a smaller pressure cooker, this Presto 4 Quart is unbeatable!

Aquí les comparto algunas fotos de la olla a presión de (6 cuartos de galón, acero inoxidable) modelo 01362.La olla es de acero inoxidable, muy resistente, muy cómoda de manejar. Viene en su caja, con sus asas para atornillar, pero ésto se hace sin problemas en 5 min, con un desatornillador de cruz mediano. (trae sus tornillos).Su manual está en Inglés, lo que tampoco es problema, ya que descargué en español el manual en la página web del fabricante, que viene especificada en la caja de la olla.La olla a presión, tiene una garantía de 12 años, lo que me pareció fabuloso.Me encantó que todas sus partes, ya sea sus mangos (asas) válvulas, el tapón de sobre presión, la goma que sella la olla, todo tienen sus refacciones a la venta en línea, cuando por alguna razón se te queme uno de los mangos, los puedes conseguir en línea y tu olla queda, para seguir usando por muchos años más.Cuando está en funcionamiento la olla, es suave su sonido y eso está genial.Cuando se pone al fuego, en primera instancia deja salir un poco vapor por el orificio de cierre que está en el mango superior; pero una vez alcanzado la presión suficiente en la olla, ese orificio se sella debido a la presión interna y ya no sale nada más de vapor.Los tiempos de cocción son exactos. Lo puse a prueba y sí, según el tiempo de cocción que dice el manual, es literal que así se cocina y deja los alimentos súper bien, bien cocinados. ¡Me encantó!. Súper recomendable. 100% satisfecha con la compra. Saludos. Que tengan lindo día.
