5.0 out of 5 stars Help so much with nipple sensitivity + preserve let down milk
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } These were fantastic for both my first and second postpartum journey. My first - the shields were necessary for nipple sensitivity against clothing/breast pads etc. I would only wear them at home - because honestly, they will make you look like Madonna with pointy boobs. For my second, I've appreciated how much milk they COLLECT with each feed! I have a strong let down - and these save so much milk to collect as well as avoid using all breastpads/a leaky mess. They sound silly - but for me these are a daily necessary item! 10/10
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome...but for home-use only
I've had sore nipples and excessive letdown leaking from the minute baby was born, it seems like, and these have been so helpful in dealing with both of those issues.I agree with everyone else: you CANNOT possibly wear these out of the house and hope no one will notice, but for around the house, they're great at what they do! I will second the opinion, too, that these should not be worn for more than 45 mins to an hour, because they do put uncomfortable pressure on the breast, and I did develop a minor plugged duct after forgetting and leaving the vented ones on for a 3 hour nap. While I was able to easily clear the plug, it's easy to avoid if you just remove these within an hour. I'm a 36DD with, apparently, longer nipples, and these work great for me. My nipples get a chance to breathe and heal, and I'm able to save letdown milk!PLEASE NOTE though that since buying these, I also recently switched to wool reusable breast pads (LANAcare, Ekstra style, Medium size overnight and Small size for the day) instead of using the cotton reusable or disposable breast pads I had been using, and I really noticed a HUGE difference in my nipples once I switched to wool. The wool pads contain lanolin, so they soothe the nipple, and because they're not holding the moisture in with plastic (and because wool wicks away moisture so well) it's incredibly healing for the nipples.Using both wool pads AND these breast shells have almost completely cleared up my nipple soreness issue. If you're struggling with clothing or pads feeling painful on your nipples, it's really worth the investment to try the LANAcare wool pads. Plus, the wool is antibacterial, so you only need to wash them every 2-3 weeks! Amazing!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great invention and product
Love these! REMEMBER: you're just catching foremilk, so you shouldn't use solely what you catch for a thorough feeding! I'm collecting and freezing milk to use in future homemade baby food and with baby cereal.Pros: guards nipples from chafing; easily collects foremilk; easy to clean; comfortable enough to wear for several hours or just during feedings; you get a four pack for half the price of ONE of the other brand; can be hidden under flowy clothes like nursing tank and overshirt, scarves, or Free To Live nursing camis (which I love and highly suggest); even the vented ones catch milk (just be careful not to lean too far forward).Cons: milk occasionally gets caught between breast and silicone back; the seal near the pour spout isn't perfect (so I turn the non-vented cups sideways or upside-down); shape on the breast is too strange for form-fitting clothing; not comfortable enough to wear ALL day; you'll probably still need a separate solution for nighttime.
3.0 out of 5 stars These work ok, but...
These do save mik and allow your nipples to breathe, but there are things to consider before trying...If you have short nipples you should be aware of the following:- The back piece has a hole that is not flush with the breast. It is about 1/3 inch from the base of the nipple at the areola, so if you have nipples that are short, the milk won't make it into the cup and instead catches between the silicone back and your breast. If that gap fills up then the milk will go into the cup. MESSY to remove at that point.- You have to wear a nursing pad over the bottom of these for the reason listed above, or wear a soggy shirt. If you have large breasts you should be aware of the following:- These are not shallow, they stick out almost an entire inch. I am a 38DDD and these things made me look like I had GIANT mounds for nipples.- These will really press into your breasts and may get uncomfortable for anything over 10 minutes. For all gals with any sized breasts, know this:- You can only wear them 40 minutes at a time, according to the insert, because they put undue pressure on the base of your milk ducts.- When I rest one of these shells in my hand it is bigger than my palm, be aware that these are not small or discrete; you would probably only want to use these at home or if you didn't care if people think you possess giant, puffy nipples.- An hour after I used these my left breast had sharp pains, I PRAY it isn't an indicator of a blocked duct. FYI: I had no pains before using these.I gave 3 stars because they do what they say, just not very comfortably. But if you have perky & petite breasts with long nipples, these may work really well for you.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for sore or chafed nipples
These are nice to put in while I am feeding on the opposite side. I initially used a hakaa and had a terrible experience with it. I also ended up need them when my daughter started rearing her head back during feeding which resulted in painful chafing that these helped relieve. The silicone backing does get a bit "sticky" so it can be uncomfortable to reposition if your nipples are very sore or sensitive. They allow a good amount of air circulation. It's nice to have the option for vented and closed, the vented will 100% leak if you lean over while wearing them so the closed are my go to if I'm leaving the house. I wear them under a nursing bra and you can barely tell they're there, I'm a 38B/C.I did fall asleep in them once, I am very careful not to do it again. They restricted blood flow and my nipple and areola were stark white and super tender for the next few days. That however, was definitely user error!

Not worth it
I actually bought it after reading tones of reviews. But trust me the product is not worth buying. One can’t be glued to this all the time when breast feeding. I have silicone Breast pump and manual breast pump which serve entire purpose. This is really not the best item to buy for milk saving.
Received only one cup in the package and there is no return policy
I have received just one cup , there is no return policy
So so handy for overnight
This product came in super handy during the overnight period with my newborn, since he would normally sleep 3-4 hours uninterrupted. Instead of waking up with a wet shirt and sheets due to leaking, this has caught all that letdown and allowed me to use the milk in his bath instead! Plus, it’s really comfortable to wear so you actually forget you’ve been wearing them.
Wonderful product for catching milk!
I LOVE these shells, I use them basically everyday. I used them mainly to collect the letdown milk on the side I wasn't nursing or pumping on, and have nothing but good things to say. I know that the opening was a bit far from your nipple but I just normally bend over to take them out to make sure that all the milk has fallen into the bottom of the "cup". The silicone upper part definitely created an airtight seal against my skin and I never had any issues with leaking. I also used the ventilated cups when I was experiencing a milk bleb (so painful) and it really helped speed up healing time. A wonderful product I would absolutely purchase again and recommend to others.
