Rudy was not a good student, was not a good football player, did not get into ND after multiple tries, but he had heart and worked to improve his grades and prove to his family and teammates we made the team and finally got into one game for a few plays and the world honored him in the end. Go RUDY YOU DID IT - The World is proud of you. Your story is part of everyone who wanted to be a part of a team.

This movie is based on a true story. It is suitable for all audiences. It is about following a dream dispite multiple obstacles.This movie is a must see for Notre Dame fans, football fans or any individual whose believes in perseverance.

I watched this movie a few times as a kid and to be quite honest, I never really been inspired by it. I guess being a kid you have dreams but you just figure you'd have the time to accomplish them later. As an adult now, I really like this movie. It has a lot of value outside of the football theme story.I really like this movie. This movie is about a guy named Rudy who is set up for life. His father works in a steel factory and can set him up with a good, consistent job that will afford him a fairly good life. In the movie Rudy was set to be married, buy a house, and set to be married. However, Rudy had a dream to play football for Notre Dame but no one believes he could do it except his best friend. His friend ended up being killed in an accident and Rudy set out to achieve his dream leaving everything behind include his promising future but otherwise mundane life.I feel this movie has a lot of core value. If you remain motivated, but remain humble you can achieve pretty much anything you set your mind to.There are some parts of this movie that are simply untrue or had to be changed to illustrate a point. For example, Rudy's boss Fortune or his friend D-Bob are both multiple people condensed into one character. Personally I can see why as it would have less impact for the story if we had to watch many characters play into Rudy's life up to achieving his dreams. But the one thing I don't get why the movie makers did was made the Coach Devine a bad guy. In the movie Devine did not want Rudy to dress up for the game and did not want to put him in the play. That is not true. In real life, Rudy wanted to dress up for a real game just once and Coach Devine was fully on board with the idea even putting Rudy to play the final few seconds of the last game of his senior year. I'm not sure why they did it but I felt it was bit bad to paint the coach as the bad guy in the film.Overall just a minor dent in the story but overall I really liked the message the movie played out. Very nice and I highly recommend this movie for anyone. When I feel down or just generally worried, I sometimes would play this movie and it helps me feel better about situations.

I can always watch this movie, even though I’m not really a Notre Dame fan of any kind but I like the characters the actors the movie flows it’s realistic and I find that there’s a lot more comedy in it and the way it’s presented to me is a lot better than bull Durham, which I still like that movie But this one as I mentioned is nonfiction so I get a better feel out of it and I rooted for Rudy. It’s a good warm hearted film and I don’t usually say that.

I was born a Notre Dame fan, not just a Notre Dame Football fan, but with an innate, unwavering love of the University of Notre Dame. I have no idea why, I'm from State College, PA and I'm not even Catholic, lol. I have no relatives who attended UND, and have known only a handful of people who went to school there. Regardless, I have something in my brain and my heart that is forever attached to the University of Notre Dame...So I get it. I get all of it. And I've yet to not tear-up and feel my heart fill with pride and love whenever I have watched "Rudy', all 500 times.However, it doesn't matter whether you're a Notre Dame fan or not, or have any attachment to UND. It doesn't matter if you hate Notre Dame more than anything in the world, especially Notre Dame Football. You still need to watch this movie. Everyone in the world needs to watch "Rudy", if for no other reason than to realize what we all really can do if we want it badly enough and we really and truly do EVERYTHING we can do to achieve it. No excuses, no waiting and watching it slip through our fingertips, no letting ANYONE tell us what we can and cannot do.And I really do hope that ever since "Rudy" was made that every Notre Dame athletic team coach has shown their players the movie at the beginning of each year, because it's the best way to make people understand just how special The University of Notre Dame is, and how lucky they are to be getting their educations there and playing a sport they love to play there, for the Fighting Irish. Because while ALL Notre Dame athletes no doubt know how special playing for and attending the University of Notre Dame is in the sense that they are attending and playing a sport for one of the most elite colleges in the world and in history, unless they were born and grew-up a Notre Dame fan and felt it in their blood, then they don't understand or fell that "feeling" about Notre Dame. "Rudy" brings that "feeling" out into the light and to the mainstream. And all Notre Dame athletes and students alike need to be shown just how lucky they really are to be there and be a part of the ND Nation...

A classic for any one, especially men, to watch. It's very inspirational and really does a great job portraying the ups and downs of life but the importance of staying focused and steadfast on your purpose in life.

Heartwarming TRUE movie about perseverance
This movie is a winner! I love that it’s based on a true story. Hollywood can never come up with something as good as true life. Rudy is someone to admire. His steadfast perseverance is admirable. Everything that he endures and fights for is inspiring. It’s hard not to get teary eyed each time I watch this.
A really great film - suitable for the whole family
This film is based upon the true story of a young man that followed his dream. From a very young age, Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger wanted to play for his favourite college football team; the "Fighting Irish" of the University of Notre Dame. They have a proud history and young Rudy idealised their achievements.However, as he grew older, he found that he did not have the academic abilities, and was unable to continue his studies into higher education. Working in a local steel mill, he witnessed the death of his friend; and this galvanised him into trying again. He gains a place in a junior college and with the help of various people manages maintain a sufficiently high enough grade to apply for a transfer. In the mean time, he does whatever he can to keep body & soul together and support his beloved Irish.He finally gets his transfer; and as a student at Notre Dame, is eligibale to join the practice team as a "walk on"; someone that that acts as the opposition to give the first team players a chance to hone their skills. Despite his lack of athletic ability, his burning desire to play wins him many friends and they want to see him rewarded by getting at least one chance to put on the blue & gold for a game.It's a feel good film made all the better by being based on a true story. Even if you are not a fan of American Football, this is great movie to watch and one that is suitable for all ages. Even though I know the ending, I still find myself jumping to my feet at the end of the film; it's that good.

スポーツ根性ものの映画で実話ならではの感涙の作品です。有名な俳優は1人も出ていませんが、個人的にはベスト3の作品の1つです。（夢は諦めずに努力すれば報われることを信じて何事も継続すること。たとえ報われなくてもいつか周りは自分の事を理解してくれて、手を差し伸べて助けてくれる。）何か壁にぶち当たって悩むことがあれば是非御覧頂きたい。本編とは別に作品モデルとなった御本人のインタビューがあります。

ENDLICH! Die Bluray ist ohne Regionalcode und somit im Gegensatz zu den VHS und DVD Versionen aus Amerika hierzulande problemlos abzuspielen.Wer den Film noch nicht kennt, sollte zuschlagen. Dieser Film ist bestes Emotionskino und beruht im gegensatz zu Rocky auf einer wahren geschichte. Der echte Rudy verfolgte mit riesiger Begeisterung die Einspielung der orchestralen Filmmusik unter Jerry Goldsmith, die damals eine Oscarnominierung hätte kriegen müssen. Von dieser Musik aus dem jahr 1993 hat sich Alan Silvestri 1994 für Forrest Gump merklich inspirieren lassen. Rüdiger (Rudy) will unbedingt beim Team von Notre Dame mitspielen. Hierfür tut er alles. Er durchläuft Höhen und noch mehr Tiefen um am Ende seinen Traum für einen kurzen Moment erfüllt zu bekommen. Sean Astin, bekannt als Sam in "Herr der Ringe" oder als einer der Jungen in Goonies (1985), spielt brilliant. Rudys kleiner, aber für ihn ganz großer Moment im Jahre 1975 wurde toll inzeniert.Es ist eine Schande, dass der deutsche Markt diesen angesehenen und sehr gut bewerteteten Film ganz vergessen hat.

Heartwarming TRUE movie about perseverance
