He's not a pretty sight, but this action figure from Hasbro's Power of the Force series is sure to delight imaginative young fans. A flexible black plastic robe enshrouds the Emperor Palpatine's hideous green face, and his upper lip is curled in its typical sneer. The neck moves from side to side so he can glare with jaundiced eyes at any approaching Jedi foes. And while the movable arms and legs add to his intrigue, they are definitely outclassed by the two icy-blue bolts of force lightning also included. Each bolt pops in to Palpatine's sleeves, just below his outstretched palms. Flash back to the days when this ugly creepster was a nicer guy (Senator Palpatine) with the Episode I photo included. --Liane Thomas

This is an awesome Emperor figure. Back in the mid-90's when I got my first red-card figures, I could NEVER find the Emperor anywhere, or his Imperial (red) guards. This is a great find and I'm very glad I got it.He stands up well on his own, but when you attach the lightning it messes up his center of gravity, pulling him forward. I prop him up next to my alarm clock on my dresser to get him to stay standing. That does not bother me though because it is such an awesome figure. The force lightning is not permanently attached - there is a small hole under each hand (in his sleeve) where you stick the two plastic lightning pieces in. They stay in nice and snug, I have not had any issues with them falling out, etc...and it looks really cool. The lightning pieces are also of a good quality plastic and are thick enough that they are not fragile or brittle. You can put them in and out of the sleeve as you please and you don't feel like you're two seconds away from breaking them in half like some other figures/accessories can be.Definitely one of the best Star Wars figures out there. The other Emperor figure they offer is also good, but it's just him with a walking stick. If you're going to get Palpatine, you've got to get him with the force lightning. His face/likeness is spot-on. Highly recommend this figure.

It was for a Christmas present.My uncle-in-law loved it, so it's very nice for collectors.The FlashBack Photo is perhaps the coolest thing featured of this collector's item.

Who wants an Emperor Palpatine figure from "Return of the Jedi" with only his cane? Hasbro/Kenner did this a few times with other versions of the character but this is one of the few versions that includes lightning bolts so you can actually have him in action mode. This is probably also the best "Flashback Photo" figure in the wave as a simple tug reveals the seemingly innocent Senator Palpatine from Episode 1. Push the arrow inward & the Emperor is revealed in all of his hideous glory. Keep in mind this is a packaging feature only. Great for both kids & adult collectors, this was one of the best wave of figures from the Power of the Force line. Get Palpatine before he gets you.

The Emperor is sort of a scary but interesting character for these guys. It's well made and the electric bolts coming from his hands are very cool. They lost first sets of bolts so I bought two more figures they liked them so much.
