For all his tattoos and bulked-up frat-boy persona, singer Bradley Nowell had real soul, which made his fatal heroin overdose even more tragic. There's more to this Long Beach, California, trio's debut, released shortly after Nowell's death in 1996, than white suburban punks imitating Jamaican ska music. The band comes up with great songs, notably the catchy MTV hit "What I Got"; spooky dub-reggae undertones, produced by the Butthole Surfers' Paul Leary, to go with the snappy horns; and surprisingly progressive lyrics that attack sexism and other social ills, especially on "Wrong Way." Like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fishbone, obvious forebears, Sublime become slightly tiresome after 17 songs, but the band is great in short doses. --Steve Knopper

5.0 out of 5 stars Used Sublime CD💽
I’m bias, I love the 💿, this is their best CD & the SKA is outstanding! The CD booklet was worn as if it was dunked in water, but you can’t beat the music🎵.

All my favorite Sublime songs
5.0 out of 5 stars Great album cover
I love to hang it up. It looks so nice.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great album if you like their radio singles!
This album is great from start to finish, but not my favorite (40 Oz. To Freedom). It is more poppy than their other stuff and features most of the singles that you hear on the radio. Don't get me wrong, it is still an amazing album (just about everything they did was amazing). If you enjoy all the songs that are still played on the radio today such as "Wrong Way", "What I Got", "Caress Me Down", and "Santeria" then go for the album! I highly recommend giving "Seed" and "Paw Shop" a good listen....two of my favorite in the Sublime catalog!

Nostálgico
Clássico, embalagem perfeita, sem riscos.
Pristine vinyl record
Record is exactly as described
Fantastic album, excellent vinyl
The music is great, a magic mix of rock, reggae & ska with some brutal lyrics. So many stand-out tracks: April 29, Santeria, Pawn Shop, Doin' Time,...The sticker on the front says 'audiophile 2LP vinyl' and I wouldn't disagree - it sounds really crisp & clear. (40oz to Freedom is excellent, too.)There is no digital download code with the vinyl so Bolo's autorip is a bonus. Better still, autorip gives you the deluxe 2CD version. The only minor negative is the first copy I received was warped. Returned and bought another which is fine.
余談ですが「What I Got」のAメロはBeatles「Lady Madonna」へのオマージュでしょうね。
