For those like me unable to find any information on whether or not Doré's legendary illustrations come with this edition (hardcover) the answer is a resounding no.The poem itself is of course in no need of praise from me, its legendary itself, but that is all that this book has, Paradise Lost & Regained strictly the texts.

Yeah, this looked like a good choice for a Kindle book, because having to pay money usually is an indicator for quality, but not in this case. I use a Kindle App on my Galaxy Phone, but this editions Software Utilities were not what I usually get. There was no FONT Size Menu, but you could spread the display to make the print larger, but it would not resize the page, and so it would never become just right. Then I usually use a Black Page Background with White Print so that I can read at night without over doing the Computer Blue that is most of what Bright White is made of on Computer Screen, and it keeps you awake and interfers with one's sleep cycle. So, I thought "Screw this" and went back to Kindle Shopping and got the John Milton "The Poetic Works of John Milton" with a cover where an eggshell white dominates in the upper third of the page while the rest of the cover is in a mottled green.Where the Publisher should be listed at the bottom of the cover, well, it says "A Public Domain Book". I believe it was at ZERO cost. And it had all the usual software we have grown to expect from decent Kindle Editions... I got my White Print on Black Page and I can size the font any way I like and then the new font size causes the page... really, the entire book, to resize itself. Yeap, sometimes the best things in life are Free. But this edition, well, I need to figure out how to delete it off of my phone so that it just doesn't take up good memory space forever.

I like everything about this print but pages 361-368 are missing from my copy. Thankfully the first title is complete but the main reason I bought this copy was because it included Paradise Regained too and that's the one that's compromised. Sadly I missed my return window because I read slowly. Oh well.

Pages are misaligned, some cut into the wrong shapes/sizesThe "golden" portions on the inner marbled paper are completely matte, not at all shiny beyond typical paper gloss. The gold is equally reflective as the red, so it looks dullFlecks of red in the wings were already flaking off when unboxedThe gilding on the edges was also irregular due to misshapen pages
