I'm not a critic. All I know is this: Plot good enough to make you pause if you need to "go" for a minute, fine cast of well-known GOOD actors and a LOT of action along with enough tech to satisfy any action movie fan. I don't buy a movie unless I think it's so good I want to keep it forever in case I want to watch again or show it to a friend. "Hunter-Killer" is a modern submarine. We don't get to see much of that and it's very well done. SEALS doing what SEALS do that you will never hear about. This checks all my boxes.

The DVD itself worked fine. As for the movie itself: While this isn't the BEST action movie I've ever watched - it certainly hold my attention and interest, and will eventually be rewatched. Of course, Gerard Butler could probably just stand there for 2 hrs and I'd watch, but whatever. It actually reminded me in part of the old time sub movies with tense action on the sub (even newer ones like "Hunt for Red October"), of political movies with muckity-mucks discussing possible war actions (reminded me of "Air Force One") and of typical military action movies with the SEALS infiltrating. There were no "gosh this is so unrealistic" or characters TSTL, and unfortunately realistic enough (with crazies with ability to start WW3) that I found it plausible - but then I grew up as a first grader in Florida learning to shelter under my desk (which would not have really saved us)-LOL during the Cuban Missile Crisis. For the price of this DVD and a bowl of popcorn, I had a cheap evening while sheltering at home. As a side note, the photography - especially on the sub below/above water and countryside was amazing.

This is a fantastic, edge of your seat, peace time US/Russia conflict movie. Surprisingly not far-fetched, but it makes you wonder. Some parts I questioned, but in today's world, and technology, who knows. Get this movie and decide for yourself. This is not a chick flick, but it shows a couple of women with power, and some military leaders with common sense. How novel.

Available in English and Spanish.I recommend to any movie consumer to purchase a physical copy of any and all movies you enjoy. All distributors these days deal with limited-licensing issues which makes future access to any one particular movie via digital media, problematic.I mean, who the heck subscribes to five or six streaming services when you can just buy a DVD for a one-time payment?!The situation is dire from the very first scene between old rivals of the USA and Russia. Subs on both sides are destroyed by a rogue party itching for a war of dominance, ushering in an intense situation from those who wish to avoid global destruction.An American sub must venture behind enemy lines, remaining undetected by the entire Russian navy, in order to secure precious cargo that is the Russian president. Aided by a stranded Russian captain, the pressure is mounting on a US sub crew as time is running short on a high stakes rescue. A well-balanced mixture of action scenes and tense moments that could spell doom for the world.I don’t recall any marketing for this movie during its release so I had no idea it even existed. Just stumbled upon it when I was wanting to watch a fight scene from the movie “Air Force One” between F15s and MiGs. This movie was like watching “The Hunt for Red October” or any other given Navy Seals movie fighting for extraction. I’ve watched this movie several times already and I really enjoy the action and intense doom scenes.Looking forward to finding more like this one!
