Hesitated making this purchase because of the price. It is worth every penny. It is a great reference of modern diesel-electric locomotives.

A solid reference that covers all major locomotive manufacturers inclusive of current models. I’ve flipped through and read parts and the book appears to focus on models produced mid 1970’s through current and the challenges presented by current technology and emission standards. I’m looking forward to reading more.

I highly recommend this book to any train enthusiast. It has the right level of detail without being overwhelming, and the photographs provide excellent background and information. It is especially useful for modelers that are looking to update the detail of your locomotives
