This edition is written in easy to read modern English, and most antiquated words are defined in the margins. The margins also include scripture references which are especially helpful when John Bunyan mentions an obscure verse. The book itself looks great with the beautifully decorated cloth cover and the art featured throughout the book. The allegories in the book are excellently executed and edifying for Christians in any season of their Pilgrimage.

Beautifully cloth bound hard cover edition of a beloved classic. Beautiful illustrations. Gold edged page. Page holder thread. Brings back fond memories of my childhood’s first encounter with this classic. Very glad that this edition is available.

This is a well-packaged book. Having read the original text, I can appreciate the modernization of the language for a broader audience. It was a slog the first time I read it because of the archaic use of words and the colloquialisms that were relevant in Bunyan's time. This modernization doesn't detract from the excellent allegory and message this story provides. It is fulfilling, and as a Christian, the deeper meaning of the text (and the Biblical references where applicable) shines through.Plus it looks great along side your other hardback books in your library.

Absolutely beautiful edition! The writing is more easily understood than the old english version. I am so excited to have this copy! I started it right away and the pages are a joy to encounter at each turn. The map is a nice addition. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful production of this very special story. Got this one to give away as a gift but my husband loved it so much I gave it to him and will be buying a 2nd one to give away. :) Be sure and read the description/details given about this particular copy. Easily the highest quality book I have purchased for the price-point. The illustrations are excellent and the pages feel very thick and high quality. The notes in the margins are also very helpful.
Your Christian library isn't complete without this book
Absolutely love this book. Its not only a wonderfully easy to understand version (if you've read the original, you know what I mean), but it's beautiful and full of Bible verse references in the margins. Worth every penny. We'll be reading it again and again!
