Our family is working through this book together, taking turns picking characters to study and sharing the learning and little assignments on each page. It is perfect for a friend learner. Each page leaves room for a Creative learner to add their details. Is engaging yet short enough to keep those Detectives in the moment with you. Explores explore with you, and clear directions for those Follower learners. Really a wonderful blessing. This book is quickly become a family keepsake as we personalize it together. Great conversation sparker!!

My 15-year-old grandson is using Biblical Virtues & Values Character Development Journal as a Bible Study in his homeschooling. He will study 50 different character traits (good and bad), look up 3-5 bible verses per trait and record his favorite verse. Then he will think of other words to describe the trait, color the picture, and draw a picture of a situation where he may have felt that particular feeling or trait. (I let him write about it instead of draw sometimes). It’s great for all ages to use as a family Bible Study or even a Sunday School or Youth Group. It’s important for children to think about their actions and know what the Lord has to say about acting a particular way. This book is an excellent way for that to happen.

Each character trait comes with a few scriptures to read. The child picks their favorite one.They have to pick to words to describe the character. At the bottom they give them space to draw a situational where they expressed that specific character. On the second page they can color the illustration of the character trait.While my daughter is coloring we go into more detail of the trait.

This one is one of my son's two favorite journals, the other being Charlotte Mason. He actually takes his time to color the pictures beautifully. Each set of pages has a character trait, Bible verses, verse copywork, vocabulary and drawing. So much learning for two pages! This is a sweet book for boys and girls of all ages. As always, the cover and spine are very sturdy and can take abuse from children repeatedly. The pages are nice and thick, you don't have to worry about kids who press a little too hard when writing or drawing.

I love how characteristics are broken down small. This isnt a deep study which is what a lot of my bible things end up being. It's pure scripture and reflection which is so useful while my preteens are growing and learning how to find God's law for themselves. Really love the simplicity but complete scriptural principles.

Thinking Tree Books are the best. Inspires the best learning skills. We love Thinking Tree and highly recommend them. They are very addictive and fun! My daughter is so excited Everytime she gets a new one! They cover a lot of subjects and help you to research the subjects. You choose the best one for what your child is interested in and go from there. If you haven't tried Thinking Tree you should!

My kids' age range 5 - 15yrs loved having group discussions about the different characteristics. The text size is great for my dyslexic reader. And I love the fact that I can use this book with everyone

We love this journal - we use it once a week for our bible studies with my 3 oldest kids. I really like that you have to actually look up the scripture instead of just having it in the book. The kids actually get involved and have to learn where things are in their bibles. And my kids love the drawings and being able to talk about situations demonstrating the different character traits!
A gem for teaching Character traits.
I purchased this journal for my six year old to teach him about character traits. With today's technology it seems as though many of these virtues have been lost. Each character trait has two pages - a colouring page and one with prompts (1. look up these verses, 2. Write your favourite in the box, 3. look up the characteristic in the dictionary and write down two other words that could describe this character, 4. Draw a picture in the bottom box. and lastly 5. Think about the character trait and decide if you want to be like this.
