I’ll provide easy-to-follow instructions, helpful tips, and foolproof recipes that have gotten the stamp of approval from gluten-free and paleo eaters, as well as from those who can eat whatever they want. I’ve served these recipes to kids and adults alike, and while everyone’s palate and preferences are different, I am confident that everyone you cook these for will love them. (And they’ll be asking you for the recipes and meal plans, too.)
My goal with this book is to eliminate the stress you feel about what to eat, and teach you how to plan meals that use a variety of ingredients to their full potential. Using the menu plans in this book and my tips on what to prepare ahead of time will allow you to spend less time in the kitchen every day, while providing yourself and those around your table with nourishing meals.
To begin, first read through the next few sections of the book to understand how and why the recipes are laid out the way they are, to discover some secrets for very quick meals (hello, newly stocked freezer and ready-to-go pantry), and to learn more about the methods that will make you a meal planning superstar.
When it comes to the fifteen meticulously crafted meal plans and recipes, you don’t have to start with Week 1, but if the recipes in that chapter speak to you, then jump right in! You can use the weekly meal plans in any order you like. Some of the plans utilize frozen, make-ahead meals or components that were prepared in previous weeks, but I’ve also explained how you can improvise if you end up skipping around the book.
Each weekly meal plan comes with an accompanying shopping list, along with a QR code to scan so you can take a digital copy with you to the grocery store. Danielles Make It Easy is nothing short of a masterpiece! The thoughtful design, complete with meal plans, grocery lists, and cooking tips, makes it feel more like a guide to effortless, healthy eating. Every page feels like it’s crafted with such thoughtfulness and care, it really is a work of art, such a beautiful book! I couldn’t wait to receive it.One of the standout features is the way she simplifies meal prep, offering easy-to-follow steps that make cooking healthy at home so effortless. She really has thought of every kind of cook with this book. I’m blown away! The grocery lists are a game-changer, and the cooking strategies help even the busiest person feel like they can manage homemade meals. Not only are the recipes practical with simple ingredients, the food….. come on!! Wow. The Chicken Parm meatball skillet and Banana Pudding Parfaits have been my favorite, quick picks. One of the best parts of Danielle’s recipes… they don’t taste “healthy.” I can’t comprehend sometimes how some of the ingredients put together taste so delicious, it makes my heart happy to not feel like I’m missing out on “normal” food. I feed these meals to my family, some on repeat, and they’re so delicious. I have all of DW's cookbooks, and her recipes are amazing!! This cookbook is unique though, in that the recipes have a super short ingredient list, and the bare min instructions! (Healthy in a Hurry by DW isn't quick recipes in my opinion, but this book def is.) It makes it SO easy and not intimidating at all. I had a cold when this came in the mail the day it was released, and needed a quick nourishing chicken soup recipe. (I didn't feel like making a full on chicken noodle soup from scratch when I was sick.) Anyway, I found the perfect recipe in Make it Easy! Greek Lemon-Chicken Soup. Literally SO easy, and SO nourishing. I made a big batch again the next day it was so good and something I could take on when not feeling well.There's also a recipe called Chicken Parm Meatball Skillet, and this one is one of her sneak-peak recipes she shared before the book was out. I have made that so many times, and even served it to company (10 people came over) and they loved it! It was awesome how low-stress and easy it was to prepare, and yet it tastes amazing and you'd never know how easy it was to make!I didn't even mention how pumped I am that she has this split into week-meal plans. Literally the first couple pages of the week give you your entire shopping list, meal prep ideas (if you meal prep), and other helpful little notes! As soon as I'm all the way well, I'm going to pick a week and buy all the ingredients listed, and get cooking :) The recipes look so fun and creative and I'm excited to try lots of new things. And this will definitely help on a busy week - normally, Monday mornings I'm searching through lots of cookbooks, picking recipes, and making a shopping list by hand. It takes forever.Lastly, I just have to say that this is a great cookbook for guys, too. My husband can only make a handful of things in the kitchen, but this cookbook is so straightforward, even he could use it! I'm thinking about getting it for my dad, as my mom passed away from cancer and he's left raising my younger siblings by himself. He's always looking for easy meal ideas to feed hungry kids, and he'd love some of these recipes.I hope you love this cookbook as much as I do! Danielle Walker hit the ball so far out of the park with this one. Not only are the recipes out of this world (the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Stir Fry is better than any restaurant and the ingredients are so healthy and satisfying), but the menu planning/prepping/shopping format is brilliant. I've used the cookbook both to meal plan for the week and as one-off recipes to supplement different weekly meal plans. I'm obsessed with the "prep ahead" and "make ahead" info as well as the notes with every recipe. This cookbook makes cooking fun and accessible to any chef from the most seasoned to the person putting on an apron to make a healthy meal for the first time. It's just so well put together. Thank you for taking the hard things and making them so easy and delicious.

I already consider myself a pretty adept meal planner and a good cook, so while I knew I would love Danielle’s recipes because I always do, I wasn’t sure how much else I would get out of this book. It has far surpassed my expectations! I have made several recipes so far, and they’ve all be very good. I follow a paleo style diet to manage my UC, I have one child who is gluten free, and the rest of the family can eat what they like. We all enjoy Danielle’s recipes! One thing I love about this book is all of the information in the beginning (and throughout) about how long food keeps, freezer storage ideas, what to keep on hand, etc. As a working mom who cooks almost every meal at home from scratch (out of necessity), even I learned a lot! Whether or not you or your family “have” to follow a paleo style diet, you will love the recipes in this book. They are delicious, nutritious, and easy for cooks of all skill levels.

As someone with a chronic illness with a focus on managing my diet and inflammation, I found myself in the kitchen a lot more cooking a lot of the same basics. This book and Danielle’s others are now a staple on my kitchen counter to help me “spice up” our weeknight meals. I love how they easy these recipes are to follow and the meal plan option is also great for busy weeks!
Great book, helpful quick dinner options
Love all of Danielle walkers healthy Palio cook books as well as her website that offers free recipes too . This book is especially different from her other cook books bc it offers SO many tips and ideas for creating mostly quick dinners with also a few quick desserts . The one thing is you helps a lot to have a well stocked and prepared pantry in order to create quick tasty dinners . Most of the meals have options so one could add a few less ingredients it’s optional if you’re missing certain food items . And if one has a pressure cooker which I don’t have and isn’t necessary but very helpful it helps even more so to create quick dinners.
Highly recommend - Danielle’s best book yet!
This book is different to any other book I own & I have hundreds. It’s so well laid out & all of the recipes are easy. There’s meal plans, food prep tips & methods to help make putting healthy food on the table easier. My favourite aspect however, is the substitutions for each recipe. So you can use what you have, adjust the recipe to suit your tastes/needs or even turn it into something different. It’ll definitely help with the food budget too!

I have all of the books in this wonderful collection. This new book has really inspired me to get back into meal prep in a fun an organized way.I have made a few recipes so far that have all tasted amazing and I can’t wait to go through the book to prep and taste more of these recipes.Recipes are simple with ingredients I always have on hand and I love the addition of suggestions for store bought sauces if making them from scratch isn’t an option. Such a great book. It might be the one I start grabbing first now.

This new book has really inspired me to get back into meal prep in a fun an organized way.I have made a few recipes so far that have all tasted amazing and I can’t wait to go through the book to prep and taste more of these recipes.Recipes are simple with ingredients I always have on hand and I love the addition of suggestions for store bought sauces if making them from scratch isn’t an option. Such a great book. It might be the one I start grabbing first now.

Danielle Walker is an excellent recipe developer for dairy free, gluten free cooking. Her recipes are tailored to give nutrition assistance to a variety of dietary issues. Beautifully written and illustrated.
Love ever book she puts out
I have all her books and they have great easy to follow recipes this new book is so good too. I'll be making many dishes. And loving the new format.and lists and flexibility of the planning element.
