About the Author
Jiro Nitta was a Japanese novelist and meteorologist. Born in 1912, he pioneered the field of mountain novels, writing while working at the Central Meteorological Observatory. Nitta won the 1955 Naoki Prize for Goriki Den. His other works include The Climber and Death March on Mount Hakkoda.
Yoshio Nabeta was born in Tokyo and graduated from the University of Tokyo. After working at a bank and experiencing a wandering life in South America, Nabeta became a writer and manga artist. His major books include Conde Koma, Present Bureaucratic MOF (Ministry of Finance), and Learning by Manga: History of Japan.
Hiroshi Takano is a Japanese manga creator and color designer, born in Nagasaki in 1971. He is the author of Dr. DMAT and Good Job, and the creator of Kokkyo wo Kakeru Ishi Ikoma (Dr. Ikoma Who Crosses Borders).

Having heard good things about the manga, I read parts of it online. Was in enamored by how dynamic the art is but also how simple and charming it can be. The premise about a loner trying to leave the world behind also struck a chord with me. The climbing scenarios are intense, and it woke something up in me even though I never climbed a day in my life.The supporting characters serve as excellent foundation to hold the story up and keep the MC from being to alienating. The book itself is not as sturdy as I thought it would be, but it is well-crafted and beautiful to add to shelf.

This was amazing. I didn’t have much knowledge about rock/mountain climbing before going in so it’s been pretty cool learning about it as MC does. The art is beautiful, the story immediately hooks you in. Can’t wait for the next volume 🩵

One of the best seinen manga! The drawing style is beautiful and the story has a very good pacing as well as themes!
Quality is decent
The media could not be loaded. The cover of the book is alright but it could be a bit better, although the art work and the storyline makes up for the quality and sturdiness of the book
