My one criticism is that it is not exhaustive enough. Could have been a little longer, a few more speeches. Author does a great job of providing the context for each speech. This book greatly added to my knowledge. The quality of the paper is very good. It's not the cheap feel kind that turns yellow after a year.

I greatly enjoyed this book and was well worth the read. This book was done before the World War Two and is very interesting because its not tainted by the war and its aftermath. If you really want to step into German of the 1930s then this is the book for you. It has great insight and should vex both the right and the left of today. Well written and easy to read you may not agree with all the ideas but you may come away with some that have merit!!

I’ve been reading this important book as it offers valuable insight into the mind of Hitler and of the times. However, to avoid any spin or slant on the speeches, I deliberately skipped the background section preceding each speech. Just give me Hitler’s own words and let me decide for myself.

Big fan of the era. Very interesting. Many of the points and rhetoric remind me of current events.
An amazing tool for studying economic history
While this is a book containing Adolf Hitlers speeches, it is also an opportunity for you to read the words that reflected the mind of a man embattled with ideological and economic concerns. Hitler was the culmination of his life experiences, as were his colleagues and fellow Germans. This book gives you a glimpse into the social atmosphere at the time and overlay them on to modern times.What becomes clear is that the underlying issues on which politicians argued seem no different than any other time in history. You come to realize through reading that people do not grow as fast as some people want economies to grow. The inevitable imbalance causes suffering, resentment, and opportunity for an individual like Adolf and his network who took power because they appealled to deeply dejected German workers.I think in contrast to modern times, many people feel they can't afford life or even buy a home. It seems the economy is under a tremendous weight, and the battles between left and right are completely polar.This book will show the discerning reader that there are consequences to allowing the passions of ideology to affect what are otherwise righteous and proper concern for people.
Must have for every history enthusiast.
Anyone interested in the major movers of history would benefit from owning this high quality text. A collection of Hitler’s speeches allows the reader to glimpse into the mind and manner of one of the most notorious figures in recent history.

An excellent anthology of the great dictator's spoken words, which as anyone who has read about the period knows was always the thing that most got people under his sway. It covers the whole of his active time with the NSDAP. Interesting to read and of course it is always vital that we DO have these words to read and examine, rather than just believing what other people have said (and written) about them. My only grumble is I wish it was longer! Perhaps a volume 2 could be compiled by Antelope Hill....?
Excellent Commentary & Texts
This is a splendid book that provides a selection of key speeches that span Hitler's career. The commentary and introduction to each speech is excellent, and written in a very compelling way. I sincerely hope that C. J. Miller will consider writing a comprehensive history of Hitler - that would be a terrific read!
Brilliant book
The translations are top quality. Each selected speech has a well written and easy to follow "background" presented before it, giving context to the words. And as for the words... well, aren't you curious to know what the man himself actually said? He is arguably the most recognisable European of all time and his words should be available for each man to judge for himself.
