Nadia Turner is an Australian illustrator and artist who creates wayward wonders out of a little studio in the Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne, Australia.

I scarcely know where to begin with a review of this deck. I was just riveted the moment I came across it. However, like so many others I had a reminder of the whole revulsion I felt when the story came out about Marion Zimmer Bradley, and spent time investigating whether this was related to her novels. Then, after viewing many You Tube walk throughs and reviews, I simply had to have it. It is more beautiful in person! Each card is like a talisman, and a touchstone to my personal past (T.H White’s The Once & Future King, Mary Stewart’s The Crystal Cave, to name a couple from way back in my high school years) and a feeling of both a collective connection to my European ancestry as well as the remnants of a diminished but vital matrifocal spiritual path that seems to be strengthening with each decade in the present. I try not to read the book too much (though it too is lovely) but I want to keep out of my head with this, hold it and feel it, let the life of it come into me that way. When I am ready, I will read Avalon Within: A Sacred Journey by Jhenah Telyndru a book of inner journeying to that place, While totally unconnected, except by theme, Jhenah’s book seems tailor made to accompany this marvelous deck.The artist involved, Nadia Turner, known to me only fairly recently through her work on the little Forest Fae Oracle deck, has garnered new respect from me for this incredible evocation of a past so collectively loved. I’d never heard of Rockpool Publishing before purchasing The Forest Fae late last year but now have great respect and high expectations for what else they might produce. This is a wonderful effort on the part of everyone involved, don’t hesitate to get it.

The media could not be loaded. The Mists of Avalon Oracle deck would immediately capture my heart for years to come the moment I opened it. I grew up on everything King Arthur, I study and practice Faery Wicca, and my namesake is in this deck... Nimue. The legends of Avalon to say the least has a huge impact on who I am. So I had set out specifically to find a deck, either tarot or Oracle with the thing King Arthur theme. There are a few older ones but they did seem dated and I didn't feel like I would connect to them. But this one however seemed modern with a fresh approach to the art and messages. And my goodness I was right! I do however wish there were more cards, I feel like 36 is not enough :-( I love how the keywords are beautifully inscribed on each card. Is that consists of all the characters from King Arthur, sacred landmarks from the area, and goddesses. The book is what makes this one of my favorites. It doesn't just have a message, it has a message, the keywords, a quote, a mantra and the description and story behind the card. There's so much to pull from every time you do a reading.

I connected with these cards on a visceral level even before I had them in my hands! I haven’t had such a clear connection with any other deck I’ve purchased. These speak to my soul. But then again I’ve had a long fascination with all things King Arthur, especially with magic, Morgan le Fay, and Avalon and have studied these subjects for quite some time. These cards are perfect for me. The art is gorgeous, the card meanings are spot on. I love everything about this deck!

I am super impressed with this deck!! Immediately when I opened it, I got excited! The cards are bigger than I personally like. I prefer the size of standard tarot cards, but the imagery and connection I felt to the cards was overwhelming! The artwork is gorgeous and I absolutely love how there are words on every card to give you a bit of insight to the cards. The book is small but beautifully done! It was simple to read and explained things very clearly! I also loved the slight little Celtic touches of imagery inside the booklet! The cards themselves aren’t of fantastic quality, but I can accept that. I just feel very connected to this deck already and haven’t even done a reading yet! If your into Celtic, King Arthur, medieval, fantasy, you will love this deck! Gorgeous!
Beautiful and profound messages
This is a small deck with 36 cards which you can carry in your handbag easily. The artwork is beautiful and intuitive. The box is nice and sturdy. The cards have keywords on them but the real magic is in the guidebook because the author has done a fab job with the text. There is so much good stuff packed in the little guidebook. I would have given a 5 star rating had there been 44 cards instead of 36 cards because at Rs 1109, this deck is priced at a higher end and the cardstock is not that great. Highly recommend because of the amazing messages in the deck.
Gorgeous deck!
This deck was everything I hoped it would be, the "little black book" is very descriptive and the art is phenomenal. Highly recommended to anyone who is into Oracle cards.

Le plus beau de mes oracles
C'est pour moi le plus beau de la cinquantaine d' oracles que j'ai à la maison. C'est celui qui me fait vibrer le plus. Les images sont superbes, les textes du livret (à traduire) sont très bien . C'est purement personnel, chacun réagit aux oracles selon ses vibrations mais je vibre littéralement sur cet oracle. Merci
