The set would be a great addition to your crochet library. It is so versatile and dynamic and fun to play with! If you are a granny square fan then it is an absolute must. The written instructions in the booklet for special stiches and how to read a chart use US crochet terminology. However as you will be following the charts for each square then as soon as you have any special stitches worked out this would not be an issue as charts are universal. This deck is packed with 50 cards, each featuring a different granny square design. The squares are both modern and stylish. Whether you’re a crochet newbie or a pro looking for inspiration, there’s a square for every mood. From the super easy ones to the more intricate designs the deck has something for everyone. Each card comes with a clear crochet chart on the back and a gorgeous photo of the finished square on the front.

I am an experienced crocheted and this deck of Granny Square patterns was perfect!! I liked it so much that I purchased a second set for a friend who also crochets.The pictures are crisp, instructions and charts are clear and detailed. I bought this set looking for a granny square pattern for something that looks like a pansy flower. It has many different patterns for a granny square. The picture on the front of the card, made of heavy cardstock, looks like an actual picture of the finished square. The back of the card has symbols for the different stitches one would use in making the granny square pictured. There is a booklet included that decodes these symbols. Easy to use once you understand the symbols. I would purchase again as a gift for a crocheting friend.

Actually, I give it 3.5 stars...I ordered this in August as a pre-order.It’s October 18th, more than a month after it was supposed to be here. I keep getting Bolo messages saying my delivery is delayed.In the meantime, I saw what I thought was the same thing with two-day Prime shipping. So I ordered it and received a TOTALLY COUNTERFEIT box! It was clearly stolen from the publisher, and garbage quality. So, people complaining about the quality, if they’re American, probably got a fake.Updated: I received my box today, finally!I'm going to be adding images to this review that shows the difference between this LEGITIMATE one, and the counterfeit one I received. But first, let me review the deck that I intended to purchase.The box and cards are high quality, and the ink is higher quality than the fake. The cards are chunky, but light weight. They remind me of a board book for toddlers, which would probably make them pretty sturdy if you only need to take one or two in your crochet bag.The first few granny squares in the deck are SUPER basic. Actually quite a few of them are. The further in the pack, the more complex they seem to get.I can read stitch/pattern charts, so using these as-is will be fine for me. However, if YOU don't know how to read stitch/pattern charts, you will need to learn how, or I guess there's a kindle guide with the written pattern? That seems kind of stupid to me, you've already given me the visual pattern, why not have a code or something where people can view the written pattern? I will not be purchasing the kindle guide.As I was comparing the counterfeit box I received to this one, I noticed the counterfeit had more interesting squares, and their #50 cards were different from this box. The booklet was titled, "The ULTIMATE Granny Square Card Deck" so I am wondering if perhaps the counterfeiter has the next version that this author will be putting out?I actually was going to return the counterfeit deck, but now that I see they are two different sets of patterns, I will keep it for now, out of curiosity!I think this deck is decent, but basic. The sturdiness of the cards is nice. The booklet is kind of a joke. The patterns would be good for a beginning to intermediate crocheter. What would be better is if there were video tutorials or other features that one could access in lieu of a written pattern, or a written pattern option in lieu of the pattern chart. I think the intention may have been to keep it simple for UK/US crocheters since stitch names are different for each.

These cards are so fun. I have been doing granny squares off n' on for years with a multitude of crafting books with granny square patterns, have created many of my own but decided to see what these cards had to offer and found many patterns I had never seen before. Looking forward to trying these patterns out for blankets for my great grandkids! It's always nice to find something new to do. These cards are made so well and the colors are vibrant; instructions simple to follow. Perfect gift for someone just starting out in this craft!

These are nice cards buy many are repeats of the same pattern using different colors. Also I should have looked closer the instructions on the back is a picture of what to do. I thought it would be written out row by row. Kind of disappointed. I'm not good at looking at a sketch

These cards are going to be a great help for me to branch out from the ONE kind of granny square I have been making since 1970! I love that each card has the picture on the front and on the back, a clearly coded diagram to show each stitch. I don't have to carry a book around. I can keep a card and a few supplies in my purse and whip up a sample during a short break.

I love using these, especially for inspo. Once you get the hang of one of the designs, it’s easy to adapt it to your preferences. Instructions are super clear and the design options are essentially limitless. I know some people have said they found the cards disappointing because some were duplicates, just with different colors, but I haven’t found any, they all seem to be different.
