Death Is Nothing At All

Description:

This new illustrated version is meant to show people to look upon death differently. It is more like slipping away into the next room. "Death Is Nothing At All" is an excerpt from a sermon preached by Henry Scott-Holland in St Paul’s Cathedral, London, Sunday 15th May 1910. The sermon was preached following the death of King Edward VII, whose coffin lay in state in Westminster Hall from 17 to 19 May, where it was viewed by about a quarter of a million people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful

This little book really helps people who are grieving!! I have been buying them for years to help bring some comfort to folks. Only problem is that they are very hard to find. I wish they would run another printing of the beautiful book

5.0 out of 5 stars A hard copy of a wonderful poem for grievers

P. · March 21, 2020

My father passed away last month and I came across this poem online. I decided I wanted a hard copy of the poem so I can keep my father’s last medical prescriptions, appointment cards, along with other small memories inside. It is en extremely emotional poem to read at first, as the author writes in first person as the deceased. However, it is a wonderful poem and I will find comfort in reading and reminisce ahead. Please note the book is one short poem with illustrations and not a collection of Holland’s work.

5.0 out of 5 stars lovely book ... sadly overpriced

M.W. · November 24, 2020

I bought multiple copies of this book over the years ... I preferred sending it rather than the usual "card." I've had so many positive replies and was sorry when it appeared to have gone of out print. Now I see it is back ... same edition ... same number of pages ... same lovely thoughts .... more than double the price. Seriously? I'd not resent a modest increase .... but a jump from $6 to $13 seems really unreasonable.

5.0 out of 5 stars “Used” but in Perfect Condition!

m. · December 12, 2021

I was searching for good quality (and reasonably priced) copies of this small out of print book to give as bereavement gifts. I was very pleased to receive this Used in Good Condition book in actually perfect, like new, condition. I can feel very comfortable gifting it as planned. THANK YOU!

5.0 out of 5 stars It Says It All

P.C. · September 12, 2009

Recently, I had attended a memorial service where I heard a speaker reading lines "in the next room." When I had asked the speaker for the name of the work, writer, he didn't know, only that he and his wife had heard these lines several years ago at a funeral. It took some research, but I'm so glad I found this. The words express so well the sentiment and bring comfort for those of us left behind.

1.0 out of 5 stars The ending of the poem is missing

S. · August 18, 2020

This book ends the poem with "All is well" when the poem actually ends with a few more lines that to me actually complete the poem... this book is worthless to me

4.0 out of 5 stars Very comforting poem

stank nach Rauch hoch 12

M. · July 6, 2023

A lovely book

G.T. · August 1, 2014

This book contains a very moving poem. It has always been a favourite of mine so I was glad I could buy it In print and with lovely illustrations on each page as well. I am pleased I bought it. The seller got the book to me before the due date and it was well packaged. No complaints.
