5.0 out of 5 stars Queen Nubia
This has to be made into a movie!!! Teyana Taylor would kill this role. Black Wonder Woman.
5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic mini-series starring Wonder Woman's Black twin sister
I'm loving the Nubia renaissance that DC Comics is currently in. We got Nubia in the MultiVersus fighting game, she had a Wendy's kid's meal toy, and DC published this mini-series and it's follow-up ("Nubia: Queen of the Bolos").The story by Stephanie Williams brings a whole new breath of life to the Nubia character. Fun fact: Nubia is the first female Black superhero, created back in 1973. But her appearances in the comics have been inconsistent, and it's not until the 2020s where Nubia was truly given a chance to shine. This comic is a perfect entry point to Nubia and her lore, with beautiful artwork by artist Alitha Martinez. If you're a Wonder Woman fan or a fan of female superheroes in general, do yourselves a favor and buy this book!
3.0 out of 5 stars It's Ok
Not much action mostly talking, some cringe dialog, art was pretty good, overall I liked it.
5.0 out of 5 stars very entertaining stories
like the artist and writer
2.0 out of 5 stars All hail the Queen
The story of Medusa is the saving grace of this tale. I don't really like how they are portraying Nubia. It feels like she's some kind overly sexualized character. There is hardly any action, I know they're trying to setup the next chapter in this saga. Wonder woman always seemed to strike the right balance. They could have won me over if other beings had also escaped Doom Doorway.
3.0 out of 5 stars The Graceful Set Up of Nubia
If you care about Bolo lore or are interested in Nubia as a character, this collection is a fantastic touchstone! I love what this book does in establishing how both platonic and romantic relationships between the Bolo's are and their Themyscirian culture! Nubia is a fantastic character and by the end of this book, she is set up pretty magnificently!
1.0 out of 5 stars Skip this
I was eager giving this a read. Three chapters in and I'm already bored outta my mind. The pacing was way too slow. Maybe it got better along the way but I couldn't be bothered anymore. I felt like the art didn't fit the story but for a horror title from Vault instead. The various cover art were just as beautiful. I like Nubia but this book is a missed opportunity.BTW I got this from Book-A-Million
2.0 out of 5 stars Damaged!
