This has maybe one of the best love story of this series. I was excited to learn about Vuk since he was first introduced in the series and he did not disappoint. He may look scary on the outside but he’s definitely a big softie on the inside. In my opinion, Vuk and Jordan have a friendship that is truly special and they really care for each other, even though Vuk wants his fiancé. In the book, we also learn how he gets all his scars and it makes me so sad. Ayana is really one of a kind and I can see why Vuk pines for her. She has a heart of gold. I loved the build up of this story so much. Vuk and Ayana are so special and I love them. Ana makes it hard to pick a favorite couple because each couple has its own unique story. It’s so hard to write a review for this because I don’t wanna give anything away, but this book is amazing.
4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a fan of Vuk!
I enjoyed this one, I liked both Ayana and Vuk.It was good from start to finish and I liked the darkness of it, how there was more to the story than you'd think.I felt so bad for Vuk because of his past but Ayana was his future and they were perfect together. The ending was cute and ended just how it should have.I'm definitely curious to read how it'll go for Sebastian and Maya next.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Morally Grey Masterpiece!
Ana Huang may have written her best book yet! King of Envy was absolutely everything I could have asked for and more. This book has danger, suspense, romance, pining on another level and spicy scenes that are hot, hot, hot! I couldn’t put it downI absolutely loved getting to finally know Vuk Markovic. He is the quintessential mysterious, s3xy, morally grey MC you can’t help, but fall in love with. This guy takes touch her and bye to an entirely different level. I loved his absolute adoration of Ayana and how loving her changes him. He was so fascinating in everything he does, but his loyalty and strength of character were unmatched. Anya was just such a great FMC. The way she loved and saw people for who they are truly made her beautiful inside as well as out. It was easy to see how Vuk fell for her so completely. This was a fantastic read and I only wish I could read it for the first time again. However, I will be reading again and again because I enjoyed it that much. This may be my fav book in the Kings of Sin series. Do not sleep on this. Go read it now! You will not be sorry.
3.0 out of 5 stars Least favorite book in the series
King of Envy was one of those books that had a lot of potential, and while there were moments I genuinely enjoyed, overall it fell a little flat for me. I went in expecting intense chemistry, sharp banter, and some of that signature angst I usually love in a contemporary romance, but it didn’t quite deliver on all fronts. The premise was intriguing, and the characters had their interesting moments, but I struggled to fully connect with them. Their relationship felt a bit surface-level for me — the tension and emotional depth I was hoping for never quite hit. I also found the pacing a little uneven, with some parts dragging and others feeling rushed. That said, there were things I liked. The writing was easy to get through, and there were a few standout scenes where the chemistry sparked in a way that made me wish the whole book felt like that. I also appreciated some of the side character dynamics and glimpses into the larger world of interconnected stories.Overall, King of Envy was a decent, quick romance read but not one that left a strong impression. It wasn’t bad — it just didn’t stand out compared to other books in the genre. I’d still pick up more from this author, though, because I can see the potential for stories I might click with more.
4.0 out of 5 stars When It Hits, It Really Hit.. but Missing the Yearning
There’s a lot of potential here, and Ana definitely delivered some truly intense moments that reminded me why I love her writing. The chemistry was there in flashes, and when it hit, it really hit but I found myself wishing for more of that delicious yearning and tension she usually builds so well with her morally grey MMCs.The pacing was my biggest hurdle. At times it felt drawn out with filler, even though the core plot was strong, and then the ending, by contrast, felt a bit rushed. The good news? Once you’re about a third of the way in, the momentum picks up and you finally get that addictive intensity Ana is known for. That said, she still has a way with words, and one of my favorite lines from the MMC was:“kada te konačno budem poljubio, nećeš više nositi njegov prsten na ruci.”
5.0 out of 5 stars Vuk ❤️ Ayana
VUK VUK VUK!!!!When I say Ana Huang brought back her morally grey men, she brought them back in full force. This was Christian Harper all over again, and I couldn't be happier. I’ve missed my morally grey men, and Vuk delivered on every count. I love that man. This book had everything—twists, turns, and a plot that was plotting.I’d have to say Ayana is one of my top favorite FMCs in the Ana Huang universe. This book was an easy 5 out of 5 for me. Ayana was brilliant, loyal, powerful, and most importantly—brave. What I loved most about her was that she wasn’t a damsel in distress. She didn’t cower in the face of problems—she stood tall, took control, and didn’t need a man to protect her. That said, I loved that Vuk still did, and I appreciated that Ayana knew when to ask for help, even though she was fully capable on her own.Now let’s talk about my VUK. Because feminism is temporarily out the window—this man can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes. He came, he delivered, and he left no crumbs. He’s my traumatized man who clawed his way to the top, and I couldn’t ask for more. His yearning and desire for Ayana was everything. He would kiss the ground she walked on. He defined the word pining, and oh, did he pine. He is the epitome of a man possessed by love. This is one of my top reads of the year, and Vuk Markovic has definitely secured a place on my top 10 book boyfriends list. This is the fifth book in the Kings of Sin series, and I cannot wait for Maya and Sebestian’s book!
I miss them already

Not that I can imagine anyone being better for Ayane than Vuk, or the other way around.... but together they are better, they are the best version of themselves.I just wanted to say that I will remember their story for a long time! Book 5 just rekindled my obssession with Ana Huang!
Review, no spoilers
King of Envy by Ana Huang was a full, effortless, 5-star read for me. Vuk and Ayana? Absolutely phenomenal.Vuk is peak morally-gray perfection, intense, and obsessively protective, but somehow also soft in the “only for her” way that rewires your brain chemistry. And Ayana? I adore her. Smart, resilient, grounding, and fiery in the best possible way. Their chemistry could power an entire city. Probably two.The tension between them is chef’s kiss: slow-burn but electrically charged, emotional but sharp, and full of those moments where you have to pause and whisper, “Oh no, I’m falling for him too.” And the plot surrounding them? Addictive. Dark edges, high stakes, delicious intensity, Ana Huang really said “no crumbs, only full-course meal.”Their dynamic is what makes the book exceptional. Every scene feels loaded with meaning, attraction, and that irresistible pull that makes you read way past bedtime. They’re messy, loyal, magnetic, and so perfectly matched it’s almost disrespectful to every other fictional couple trying to compete.Easily 5 stars.
My favourite of the series
I was so excited for this one - Vuk had always been who I was the most curious about throughout this series, and while we didn’t know much about Ayana coming into this she is an incredible FMC! I adored this book and it is easily my favourite of the kings of sin series. Also, what an ending! 10/10 on the romance Mr. Markoviç
