Some may be turned off by Alex’sharsh, heartless and exteme behavior, but having experienced what he did as a boy, allowed him a pass, in my opinion, and explained why he had need for revenge. The relationship between Alex and Ava started out as a friendship between Ava’s brother Josh and Alex. When they got older, the relationship shifted when Josh was away as part of his career and he asked Alex to keep an eye on Ava in his absence. One thing lead to another, and the rest is history. It was a very quick read, and I liked it a whole lot! The following books in the series are some of the people’s that we met here’s story, so I’m off to read those

I just finished reading Twisted Love, and seriously, you need to check it out. It's a fantastic contemporary romance featuring the ever-popular brother's best friend and grumpy meets sunshine tropes. While it kicks off the Twisted series, it totally works as a standalone read, which is great. Plus, it's available on Kindle Unlimited!The story features a brooding, alpha hero who ends up living next door to the light-hearted heroine (his best friend's sister!) to keep an eye on her. Let me tell you, the chemistry between this dark, tortured guy and the sassy, romantic heroine is absolutely off the charts. You can't help but cheer for them!This is quickly becoming one of my favorite books by this author. The spicy scenes are fantastic and really enjoyable. The plot moves quickly, and the side characters add some fun entertainment. If you're looking for a steamy, angsty grumpy sunshine, I definitely recommend giving Twisted Love a read. I'm already looking forward to the next book!

He bought her a new phone because she didn’t text him in a week 😭😭. He bought a $40,000 art piece so she’d get the commission. He helped her get over her fear of water. He gave her up willingly because we hadn’t feel worthy of her. He moved to another country without hesitation to be with Ava once he found out she was leaving. He resigned his CEO position to follow her to London, despite the fact he’s been working for that position his entire life. He groveled for AN ENTIRE YEAR. He bought her entire art collection. He sang for her even though he previously refused to sing because it made him too vulnerable to his emotions. Like come on. He’s AMAZING. He used to be as cold as ice, and only had his eyes set on revenge, until he met HER. She brought light into his life 😭😭. She helped him smile, laugh, make jokes, and helped with his insomnia. And then if you’ve read the next three books, you KNOW he gets better in each book even through the brief scenes we see of him and Ava.If I could change one thing, it would be more in depth scenes of their time together. I needed to their dates, the swimming lessons, etc rather than a brief description. Like the epilogue and bonus scene was PERFECT. We needed more of those kind of scenes.Favorite quotes/scenes:“Do you ever smile? So a lot of the reviews I was seeing was people not liking this book & saying to skip to the 2nd book which is Twisted Games. I ALMOST did. I loaded Twisted Games first then said hell with it I’ll go ahead & “start” Twisted Love. Start was an understatement I devoured this book. I absolutely loved Alex & Ava together in this book. They fit so perfectly together, great chemistry, & this whole book just flowed so well with them. It started to get spicy in chapter 22 but the slow burn leading up to it was great! Loved this book & now I’m starting book 2!

Ana Huang crafts a captivating mix of romance, tension, and emotional depth that kept me hooked the entire time. Alex Volkov is the perfect morally grey hero—brooding, brilliant, and heartbreakingly complex. His chemistry with Ava is electric, and their slow-burn romance is full of tension, banter, and genuine vulnerability.I loved how the story balances steamy moments with heavier themes like trauma, loyalty, and healing. Ava’s strength and warmth shine through, making her the perfect match for Alex’s cold exterior. Their growth, both as individuals and as a couple, felt real and satisfying.If you love protective heroes, strong heroines, and a romance that makes your heart ache and race at the same time, Twisted Love is a must-read. I couldn’t put it down—and I’m already diving into the next book in the series!

This book started off really slow and kind of boring but as I got into it, it was really good! The action and romance in this novel goes hand in hand. The romance took until almost the end of the novel to show up. The action was there for a lot of it!

Questo è uno di quei libri così belli che non sai nemmeno che stai leggendo un libro, ti senti come se fossi lì con Alex e Ava che vivono la loro vita.Non so nemmeno da dove cominciare…Ava Chen è una studentessa della Thayer University a D.C., studia fotografia e ha un fratello iperprotettivo di nome Josh, uno studente di medicina che sta per intraprendere un viaggio di lavoro in Sudamerica per un anno.L'iperprotettivo Josh chiede al suo migliore amico Alex Volkov di prendersi cura di Ava mentre lui è via.Alex e Josh sono migliori amici da 8 anni e anche se Ava conosce in qualche modo Alex, in realtà non lo conosce davvero. Alex è sempre stato pensieroso, silenzioso e in qualche modo misterioso.Alex Volkov è uno dei MIGLIORI eroi (o antieroi) CHE ABBIA MAI LETTO! Il livello di profondità, background, personalità e trama che Ana Huang è stata in grado di portare a questo libro e in questi personaggi è di un altro livello.Alex vi piacerà sin da subito e dal momento in cui si ferma con la sua Aston Martin io me ne sono innamorata.Diciamo solo che state per leggere dell'eroe più sexy, “cattivo”, intelligente (QI di 160) e spiritoso che abbiate mai incontrato, ma maledetto da un passato a cui non può sfuggire.Il monologo interiore e il retroscena di Alex mi hanno lasciato senza fiato.Questa storia mi ha talmente rapito che non riuscivo a smettere di leggere. Ava Chen e Alex Volkov hanno un'innegabile chimica che diventa sempre più forte andando avanti.Alex è una forza. Ava è incredibile Insieme, sono bellissimi.La loro storia mi ha spezzato il cuore e mi ha fatto credere nell'amore e nel superare terribili ostacoli nella vita. Sono così tante le emozioni che si sono riversate tra loro due che ho sofferto con loro.Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti i lettori di romance. Non smetterò mai di raccomandarlo abbastanza.

Could not put it down. I was instantly hooked and I’m so glad they’re making it into a movie!!! It had spice and a bloody awesome storyline, which is so hard to come by. If I could give it 6 stars, I would!
