We've read this book many times during the day and before bed time! My toddler loves the nursery rhymes and tracing pages.

I love that this board book offers so much interaction. My 1 year old loves to listen as I read while she traces her finger along the cutouts and pokes the circles. The nursery rhymes are familiar but with a unique fall take, which makes for a cute twist! My toddler loves pumpkins, so I'm sure we will be enjoying this book well beyond the fall season.

I purchased this book for the precious toddler that I nanny for. She LOVES books, songs, poems, & sweet illustrations, so I thought this would be perfect. There are a few issues that her parents had with the book & I fully agree with them. They've raised her in a loving, Christian environment with a strong belief in the importance of inclusion, strength in diversity, & in the power of women. I didn't realize until I received it that in the 5 Little Pumpkins poem, they say "There are witches in the air!" I was a bit surprised to see that in a book for toddlers & I immediately knew her parents would take issue with that, as well. That's my own fault due to my ignorance for not remembering much of the poem. Fortunately, she isn't reading fully yet (she knows basic words), so we still read the poem to her, but we replace "witches" with "birds." LOL! It works out great & she loves it, as do her parents.The other poem they took serious issue with was "Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater." Again, I had no idea this poem was in the book. I expected fall poems, but I never thought of that one as a fall poem.Obviously, if you're raising a daughter to have strong values & hold her head high, while being proud of who she is, the last thing you want her to hear is a poem about a guy who can't "keep track" his wife, so he locks her up to keep her with him!? 😳I remember that poem from my own childhood, but as an adult, I agree wholeheartedly that this poem is crude & outdated, so we skip it completely.Either way, I'd say if you're strong in your religious beliefs or are a bit more progressive when it comes to how you raise your child, you'll probably feel the same way we all did.On the other hand, we also all see how much their daughter loves the other poems in this book & she enjoys putting her fingers in the holes that are in each page! It's become one of her top 10 favorite books rather easily.

Such a cute book for fall and Halloween! My little one loves poking her fingers in the holes and counting along! The tracing lines are so fun for her age, and we will enjoy this book for years to come! Thank you Silver Dolphin books for the gifted copy!

I usually like to see more pictures added before I buy a book and I'm glad we took a chance on this one. My son loves all Nursery Rhymes and yes some of these are old with old words. It's a part of history as far as I am concerned and I'm not going to cover up history but let it be and teach family values of kindness, love and respect just as I was taught. This is an adorable book and was one of my son's Halloween gifts. He loves how he can place his finger in the dots on the pages and I will count for him. He was having such a great time with this feature and even started trying to trace his finger along the pages. We will be getting more of these. He is 9 months old and I can't wait to watch him grow with these books.
