Lane is a licensed social worker and worked for many years with families in the Boston area. Lane began studying American Sign Language in 2006 after her first baby was born and was amazed by all she had to say. She lives with her husband and two daughters in MetroWest Boston. one of my closest friends is partially deaf, something we found out when we were in high school. prior to this i had known a few sign words to get by but not much and i knew when i'd have kids i'd want them to know ASL. once i had my first child i got this book, and it has helped me learn more words as well as getting my son to learn who is now 4. this book also helps him to do signs with his sister who is 1 and he teaches her the first signs he's learned. i use this during his homeschooling and also when i want to make sure a sign i use is correct. it teaches you the proper hand movements and makes it easy for young children to learn as well.

This book has been such a helpful tool for communicating with my little one! The signs are clearly illustrated and easy to learn, even for someone with no prior sign language experience. We started with basics like "milk," "more," and "all done," and my baby picked them up surprisingly fast. It's been amazing to reduce frustration for both of us - now my baby can tell me what they need before they can even talk! The book is well-organized and durable enough to withstand little hands grabbing at it. Highly recommend for any parent wanting to start early communication!

I bought this paperback for our two Little ones, who are under 3 years old, to learn basic sign language. It is extremely easy to read and includes pictures and explanations that are detailed as to how to make each actual sign. My daughter and I will sit and practice them together while going through the book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone trying to teach their little one signs.

I bought this charming little book to give to my granddaughter for our first great grandson. She enjoyed teaching him some of the signs in the book. Baby sign language is great especially if you need to leave your little one with a sitter.

Perfect to start learning sign language since my 11 month old grandson has been diagnosed as having hearing loss. I ended up ordering one for each person in my family so they can communicate with him as well.

This is my 15 month old daughter’s favorite book, without question. It has been her favorite since she was about 9 months old. While she is not always delicate with the pages, it has held up well and she is always excited to read it and sign every page. I would highly recommend this book to any parent wanting to teach their baby sign language.
My 9 month old baby's favourite book
This is a lovely book and definitely worth getting to cover a few basic signs. It is also randomly one of my 9 month old's absolute favourite books out of his book collection.
Very helpful and nice book to learn basic words and baby signs
Love The Book! My toddler learned very quickly a couple of signs just by reading it together. And even without the “baby signs” aspect, the book is really cute and has nice pictures and examples for the Kids to learn the basic words. We love it 🤟🏼

The book is lovely and the illustrations are great. I just wish that the title for this purchase explained ASL being on Bolo UK. Sadly need to find another book instead
