This book is amazing, well written and nice illustration. Perfect for children and anyone, for that matter, for a straightforward explanation of why and how we pray.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging, well written, with colorful illustrations.

This book is a blessing to any revert to Islam and anyone who is interested in Muslim customs and way of life. Prayers are one of the most beautiful important parts of a Muslim life. I don’t think it should have a age limit, I’m a grandmother and I was just as excited for it to arrive and give to my grandchildren as gifts. Being a former teacher this would be a great addition to elementary schools and libraries. The story is true to life and the illustration helps to keep young and old readers engaged. The colors are very vivid. The glossary is a great addition to the steps in prayer and is easily explained by the author. I will be purchasing more copies. This book is for young and old alike.

This Is Why We Pray is a book about the customs of Islam, specifically the five pillars, Salah, and Dua. This book is written for children in a story form and is very informative. The book has great representation which is important for not only children of color but Muslim children. Not only is the book informative but it's interactive. It gives the young reader activities to share with their family and engages the reader in critical thinking. I especially love the glossary at the end along with a list of additional resources to learn more. It may be helpful, particularly to the non-Muslim reader, to break the glossary up after each chapter with the terms used in the proceeding chapter. If you are looking to learn more or engage your children in the Muslim faith this is a great book.

While I am not religious, I bought this book for someone else. So I cannot speak to the details of the topic. The pictures are bright and relevant to the story. While I won't take points off, I wish this would not have the faux sticker saying "ages 5-7" because I think it would be a great resource for children with disabilities who are older or even just older people looking to have a very brief look into the religion.

This book is a true treasure! This is my first time purchasing from this author , and Subhanallah I am so thankful for her intentionality and comprehensively fun method of storytelling as a beautiful means of connecting our little ones to Allah, prayer and our purpose. In addition to the beautiful brown characters and wonderful illustration, the easy to read flow of the story keeps the children captivated and engaged. It is much thicker than I realized and there is even a wonderful glossary at the end! 😲I love this book and have just created a list of family and friends to gift this to for Eid in shaAllah! 🎁 🎁 🎁May Allah bless the author and everyone involved in its production. Ameen 🌿Every child should have this on their book shelf🕯
