What a great idea for an "Intro" book! Proofs of God is an easy-to-follow tour through the scientific evidence for a Designer. Presented as a conversation between "Doubt" and "Reason," the discussion avoids jargon without shying from scientific concepts, covering a range of topics from DNA to Darwin to the origin of life.It's full of excellent illustrations of complex technical ideas, in the form of cartoons and other drawings and well-written word pictures, all in a "science for non-scientists" style. This make Proofs of God a great resource for students from high school through college as well as adult. I think the explanatory vignettes and call-out quotes would be outstanding tools for teachers covering Intelligent Design and proofs for the existence of God.Much of what has been written on Intelligent Design has been relatively ponderous material. Proofs of God is a refreshing change of pace both in its readability and lively format, ideal for readers new to the subject matter. After my first read, in fact, I don't think the words "Intelligent Design" even appear in the book, or if they do it is rarely. People knowledgeable about the topics will appreciate the wonderful illustrations of ideas, while newbies will find a unique and invaluable introduction.

Short, quick and to-the-point sections that build on each other in a fun dialectic style. Definitely a must read for those curious about these issues and that have an open mind. Definitely be prepared to have to think for yourself instead of just letting others do your thinking for you.

This Book is Excellent, Easy to Read and Understand. For Many it will be Life Changing......I Highly Recommend Mr Ell's other Book..."Counting to God". Again it will be Life Changing for Many......It should be considered for a Nobel Prize.

Breaks foundational concepts into logical talking points. Ties these points together effectively, with a light touch. No heavy handed mental manipulation here. Offered a great opportunity to examine popular viewpoints on the relationship between faith and reason in a new light.

This book is not what I expected. It is written in an interesting, easy to follow style but the subject matter is deep. While I was looking for things such as the symbiotic nature of different species or survival requirements, this book is concerned with DNA and some very technical genetic stuff that I had to keep refreshing in my mind to understand. Even then I got little out of it. This would be a good book for someone who is looking for that sort of information, but not for the casual reader.

'Proofs of God' is a superbly argued book that, as the title suggests, provides proofs for God’s existence. The author, Douglas Ell, engages the reader through a series of conversations between the characters Doubt and Reason. Their conversations about God’s existence move through (and beyond) three main proofs—mathematical, common-sensical, and logical—where the author makes his case.Exploiting our age of visual communication, Ell employs graphics to highlight his proofs and arguments. Boxed, bold summations, illustrations, and so forth serve as helpful billboards along the way, emphasizing points made in the nearby dialogue, as Doubt and Reason traverse their theological disputation. Relevant quotes from scientists and others flesh out the discussion.The book could well serve in high school and collegiate settings, where students are being introduced to arguments for and against God’s existence. 'Proofs of God' is a superb read, an eye-opener, and well argued for the benefit of all inquirers, in or out of school.
Great Explanation of the origin of the Universe and Life
Easy to read and understand i. A different way to approach the issue of A designer God. But very enjoyable. Loved it.
