Basic instruction with projects

This is a great book on Beginner Whittling, it has so much information in it. I bought this for my kids, they love it.It teaches a skill, and an art. The book is very thoughtful on telling and showing how to make an abundance of things.It's fun and very creative, with ideas for all occasions.

The book is well done and takes you through several projects with great instructions. My son wanted to learn to whittle, and he enjoyed selecting projects. Since he was a complete beginner and just getting started with whittling and carving, his projects didn't turn out looking like the ones in the book. With practice he will get there, but it will take time and effort to learn the techniques and control required to mimic what is shown in the book.

Definitely a beginners book. The pictures do not use safety gloves so I don’t recommend it as an example for you f people to learn.

Looks pretty handful for my husband who just started wood carving. The book is larger than i thought it would be for some reason. Very good material, pages are the same thickness as the cover; feels like they know men will be handling the book so it needs to be thick. :)

I purchased this for my 12 year old last Christmas. The thought of him using a knife was a little scary when he asked about learning to whittle (which I had to google what that even was because I thought it was a type of whistling). But I was willing to do anything to get him off of video games. He has made some cool things using this book.
